"Babe, where we going?" Imani asked with the blindfold over her eyes and held onto Xavier's hand tight as he led her down a path.

"Quit asking questions, we almost there"

The breeze blew, giving Imani the chills and letting her know they were on the beach. With the tank top and shorts she had on, goosebumps started forming on her skin.

It was sunset and Xavier popped up at the house, asking Imani to come with him somewhere.

Rochelle has been confined to a wheelchair for the past 4 days, and Damian has to use a cane for the next few weeks.

Coming to a stop, Xavier moved the blindfold slowly "U know I'm a romantic ass nigga, right?"

"Yea, I know baby" she giggled as the blindfold was removed. She gasped and looked over the sand at the lit candles and the same setting towards the shore.

Grabbing her hand, he pulled her through the path until they stood in front of a small table.

The was a small box sitting next to a folded piece of paper. Xavier grabbed the box first and turned towards Imani.

"Damn, I'm nervous as fuck" he chuckled, looking at her. She smiled a little "I know we haven't been together long, 4 months exactly, but I been having feelings for u way before we got together. I remember seeing u walk down the halls at school, and just wish I had the chance to make u mine. And now that u are, I'm gonna make this work."

He fumbled with the box in his hand, nervously.

"I don't need nobody else. I'm happy with u and I want us to have a future together. I see a future with us, marriage and kids. But in order for that to happen, I need to say something"

He sighed "We goin off to college soon and there's a chance we not goin to the same school. Mistakes will be made and I don't want to hurt u, and I don't want u to hurt me"

"U brought me here to break up with me?" Imani asked, pulling her hand away from Xavier. She wiped her tears.

"No baby, I'm saying we just need a break until out mistakes are done being made. College is about experiencing new things, and if we're together during these mistakes, we won't have a future together. And I want a future with u"

Xavier opened the small box "I bought this for u and its not an engagement ring yet, but its something to remind u, that no mater how far we are from each other, u will always be the only woman I want and need. I love you Imani" he slid the ring on her finger.

She looked down at her finger, and smiled while running her finger over the ring. "I love you too" she said, looking up at him and grabbing his face with both hands, kissing him.

"There's one more thing" he grabbed the paper on the table. Opening it, 2 tickets were in there. "Proms coming soon, and I'd love if u go with me"

"Of course I'll go with u" again,  she grabbed his face and kissed him, adding just a bit of tongue "When does this break start?" She mumbled, after pulling away.

"It all depends on what colleges we get accepted to. If it's the same college, or near by then there's no need for a break. But if they're too far away, the day we leave"

She sighed, shakily. "Ok" she mumbled.

"But until then, let's enjoy every second together" he gently grabbed her chin, and smiled "I love you"

"I love you too"

"Damn, I'll never get tired of hearing that" he smiled "I'm stayin the night, but we need to go check on momma first"

"Ok, come on"
