It seemed like everything was moving in slow motion. Nobody said anything, sitting in the waiting room of the hospital. Its going on 2 hours with no answers.

Sydney sat beside her son, who had his head in his hands, and rubbed his back soothingly. Damian was busy trying to call a family member on Lona's and Imani held a sleeping Sky on her lap with Xavier behind her.

The automatic doors of the hospital opened as two detectives walked in. "Excuse me, are u Jayceone?" One asked. Jayceone looked up slowly, eyes red and puffy "I'm detective Long and this is detective Dean. We understand u were on the phone with Lona during the accident?"

"This wasn't no accident, but yea. I was"

"Would u mind telling us everything u heard?"

Jayceone sighed, not wanting to relive it. "She called me, and I told her I was down the street. She said Robert was there"

"Robert is?" Dean asked.

"Her ex boyfriend. Add abusive to your notepad too"

"Abusive? He would hit on her?" Long asked. The voice sounded familiar, getting Xavier's attention.

He noticed that's the same man who he saw walking into his house. The man he thinks his mom is having an affair with.

"Yea, anyway, I told her to stay on the phone with me and she did. He started calling her name and saying he wouldn't hurt her. Something happened and she screamed and the phone fell. He said he loved her but she didn't love him. He hit her, then "

"Thank u detectives, he's done talking for now" Sydney said. Not speaking anything else, they both walked off and Damian walked inside "Got a hold of anyone?"

"Her mom catching the next flight here but other than her, no" he said, sittin down "How u feeling Jay?"

"Like all this is my fault" he mumbled, standing up "I need some air"

"I'll come with u" Xavier said, following him out. Again, everything grew quiet. Being a man, Damian knew what his son was thinking about. But doing what he did in the past, isn't sure if he'd want his son doing the same thing.

Killing someone isn't easy and a lot of people take it for granted.

"Mani, go ahead and take Sky home" Sydney said, passing her the keys "We'll catch a ride with Jay"

"Let me know what the doctor says" she said, grabbing them and walking outside. Imani saw Jayceone sitting on the bench beside Xavier "Jay" he looked up at her "Everything will be ok"

"I don't think that refers to this situation Mani, but thanks" he said.

"Well to make things better, I'll have a whole tub of mint chocolate chip ice cream waiting for u when u get home" that made him smile, even laugh a little.

She continued walking "U can't just lose hope in situations like this Jay" Xavier said.

"Its hard to hold onto, when u haven't been through something like this"

"I understand that, but we both want Lona to be ok. This isn't something I do often, but this entire time I've been praying about it"

"Think it'll work?"

Xavier shrugged and nodded towards the direction of the doctor, talking to Damian and Sydney "We about to find out"
