Calum's POV:
"I'll be back mate." I said to Luke, and went to where the coffee shop held napkins. I took more than I needed, and bumped into someone when I turned around.
"Fuck, I'm really sorry about that. You okay?" I asked, and held her waist so she didn't fall. She looked up at me with bright eyes, and adjusted a sweater that was too big for her. "I'm fine." She replied, and tucked a piece of lose hair behind her ear.
She looked so beautiful, I couldn't keep my eyes off of her body. I realized that I had been standing on the same spot while she sat across my table. I felt my cheeks flame, and headed back to Luke.
"Where are the napkins?" He asked with a confused expression. I groaned, I forgot to get extras when I dropped the others. "You were gone for five minutes, tell me what's going on." Luke commanded, but didn't sound threatening. I chuckled, and secretly pointed to the girl I almost knocked over.
"She's beautiful, isn't she?" I dreamily asked, and rested my chin on the palm of my hand. Luke raised his eyebrow at me, and made a motion to stand up. I quickly leaned, and yanked him by the arm. "What the hell?" I asked.
"Go talk to her." He said, sitting back down in front of me. "She didn't reconize you so she must not know who you are." He continued. I rolled my eyes, and focused my attention back to the mystery girl.
Her nose was scrunched up in concentration, and her hand swiftly moved across what I assumed was her journal. The sunlight from the window hit her face, making her cheekbones pop out. Her hair was messily thrown up in a bun. She looked up, and smiled at someone. I frowned, she should be smiling at me, not another person.
The coffee shop seemed to be silent, not one word said. Everything was moving in slow motion, I couldn't decipher what was going on.
I followed her eyes, and saw my bandmate biting his lip from laughter. My mouth gaped open, embarrassment filling my body when he points at me. "Calum!" Luke screamed, beckoning me over.
The girl glanced at me, and sweetly smiled. I sighed, and slowly walked over to the both of them. I glared at Luke before grinning at the girl.
Her leather journal was now closed, and her fingers were wrapped around the pen she was using. I wondered what else she could do with those fingers.
I stopped my thoughts, I was standing in front of her and it would've been awkward if my little friend decided to show up.
Luke nudged me on my side which made me wince, and nudge him back harder. The girl laughed, it sounded like angels singing. I noticed how her eyes were shut, mouth open in a wide smile, and nose crinkled.
I wanted to be the reason for her to laugh, I'd do anything to hear it again.
"Calum, this is Ariana. Ariana, this is my best friend Calum." Luke introduced us.
I shook her hand, and felt warmed by her touch. "You guys should get to know each other, yeah?" He said, and started walking back to our table. I looked at Luke, asking for help with body language but he winked instead.
I hated him, he couldn't just leave her alone. "Is it alright if we can talk? I know I'm a total stranger, and we didn't get off to a nice start earlier, but maybe we can get to know each other?" I asked, and waited for her answer before sitting down next to her.
"I don't mind, it's nice to have some company once in a while. I'd love to get to know you Calum." Ariana replied, and packed her journal inside her bag. Damn, I really wanted to know what was written inside the pages.
"Do you know the band Five Seconds of Summer?" I asked. "I haven't heard of them. Are they any good?" She asked back.
For a moment, my mouth opened to tell her I was in the band. I was the Calum Hood that so many girls fell in love with.
"They're okay." I answered, and shrugged at my lie. "I should listen to them one day." Ariana said, warming her hands on the cup of coffee that laid across from her.
I looked out the window, the sun rising with different shapes of clouds. The colors were beautifully mixed. Blue, orange, pink and yellow filled the sky.
"What's your favorite band?" I asked to break the silence. "I kind of like One Direction." She replied, and I gave her a small smile. If only she knew I could bring her to them.
"Favorite movie?" I asked. "What about for every question you ask, I get to ask one too?" She said instead of answering. I nodded, and waited for her to answer.
"Pirates of the Caribbean. Do you play any instruments?" She said, and chuckled at her own question. "Bass." I answered, and showed her my calloused fingers.
"So you're all about that bass." She stated which made me roll my eyes. "I don't want to be your friend anymore." I teasingly said.
"We have to go Cal." Luke said, holding the back of my chair. I looked at Ariana then at Luke. "It was nice to meet you." I said.
She stood up, and wrapped her arms around my waist. She made my knees weak, and I had to hold onto the table for support. It must feel so good to cuddle with her. "It was nice to meet you too." She replied.
"Before I go, can I have your number?" I shyly asked, earning a disappointed look from Luke. I wanted to wipe it off his face, but I didn't want to scare my hopefully future girlfriend away yet.
She nodded her head, and wrote ten digits on one of the napkins that were on the table before handing it to me. I slipped it in my pocket.
"You're fucked." Luke said. "What?" I snapped. "I got a glimpse of her journal, and saw dozens of poems about someone." He continued.
I frowned, slightly pushing him to the side. "You looked at her journal? That's not cool." I said. He shrugged, not making eye contact with me.
I didn't care for who she wrote poems or letters for. I just didn't like the fact Luke looked at them, and read some parts. It was called personal space, but then again, I never had personal space.
"Will you see her again, or was this another flirt and go?" Luke asked, his voice angry. He knew me more than I knew myself, and that frightened me. "I don't know, maybe I'll call her." I replied.
I stepped on the cracks that scattered the sidewalk. People shoved me as they went by, rushing to wherever they were heading to. Luke reached his hand out for me to take, but I shook my head in amusement.
He eyed me, knowing I might not call her. For a moment, I thought so too, but I was wrong. I knew there was something that clicked with this strange girl, and things I wanted to find out in that journal of hers.
Hey guys! I haven't been on lately because of school stuff. Vote, comment, leave requests. Xx
