Crutchy

Being in the refuge was hell. I'm not even overexaggerating. Rats and their feces were everywhere. We were starved, beaten, and forced to do work. This was all meant to help our, 'character'. Now you may be wondering, 'How did a girl get into the refuge?'. Well you see, I looked and acted like a boy so they just threw me in with the rest of them after I tried to steal an apple. The others were nice for the most part, there were a few rotten ones, but overall we stood up for each other.

When Crutchy came I was furious. I didn't know him prior, but I could tell he was kind and had no place here. Then my rage was intensified after I got to know him. He was the sweetest being on the planet and no one could change my mind. He was polite, even to Snyder! He made sure everyone was taken cared for...well as much as they could be. He would always try to make everyone look on the bright side and honestly I wanted to protect this boy. Not only that but he came in hurt, he told me how he couldn't walk too well since some people soaked him before they dragged him here. I was completely livid when he told me that.

We became quick friends. The few rude people here tried to pick on him but I stood up for him. His friend came to break him out one night but there visit was cut short by Snyder himself. Luckily no one got in trouble. In fact, I'm pretty sure Crutchy is on Snyder's good side.

Seeing Crutchy be so kind and loving honestly restored some of my faith in humanity. Then I remember that evil cruel people put him in a hell hole and its almost wiped away again. Truthfully, I fell for Crutchy. Can you blame me? He was adorable, sweet, loving, kind, the list goes on forever! When I see him my heart melts, he honestly makes me want to become a better person. He also gives the best hugs, I want to hug him forever. (Now I want a crutchy hug)

Now you know how much I care for him. So you have to understand how terrified I was when Crutchy and a few others were taken away from the refuge. They wouldn't tell us why as Snyder also left. Then a while later we were all set free. I had no clue where to go. I had no home, no family, nothing. Crutchy was gone and I realized I felt truly alone. Even with all the people rushing past me...wait. Why was everyone going the same direction?

I followed the crowed and ended up in newsie square. I tried to look around but there were so many people and I couldn't see over anyone. Damn my shortness. What I was able to see though was a carriage...and was that? Oh my, it really was him! Crutchy left the carriage along with the others and I was about to cry from happiness. He was okay. I shoved my way through the crowed not caring about anyone else. I finally reached him and I noticed that Snyder was now in the carriage being taken away. Good, finally getting what he deserves. Yet I drew my attention to the brown haired angel.

"Crutchy you're alright!" I exclaimed hugging him. "I was so worried, I thought that they took you'se somewhere worse!" I felt him hug back and I let a few tears fall down my face.

"Don't worry (n/n)," Crutchy laughed lightly. "I'se told you everythin would work out in da end!" I laughed with him and hugged him tighter.

"CRUTCHY!" I heard an exited shout. I pulled away and saw Crutchy's friend approach us.

"JACK!" Crutchy shouted back. They hugged for a few seconds and laughed.

"I'm glad to have you back buddy," Jack said with a bright smile.

"I'm glad ta be back," Crutchy replied.

"I see you'se brought ya goil too," Jack smirked and turned to me. "It's nice ta finally meet ya, you seem ta fit Crutchy's description. A true angel."

Crutchy's description? I felt my flustered yet happy at the same time. I looked over at Crutchy and he looked embarrassed. "If anything, Crutchy's the angel," I said looking at the ground. Jack left us and we were alone (well as alone as we could get in a crowd) once again and it was slightly awkward.

I felt a burst of confidence consume me as I looked back at  Crutchy's blushing figure, "I wouldn't mind bein ya goil." He looked at me with wide eyes and his blush seemed to burn brighter.

"Y-y-you sure?" He stuttered.

"I was sure when I first saw you'se."
