Kid Blink

(I'm tired and this was sloppy and rushed. Sorry, I just wanted to update.)

It was so annoying. I wanted to puke every time it happened, which was often. Kid Blink would flirt with anything that could walk with two legs. Yet he wouldn't even look at me, the girl who had the hugest crush on him. It didn't help we were selling partners so I saw it everyday. I would just watch from across the street with a frown. I was just a friend and that's all I'll ever be. I let out a sigh and spouted some highly unrealistic headline to sell faster. Which worked. I was on my last pape when a cute guy walked towards me. 

"Could I get a paper miss?" He asked politely. The most polite someone ever asked since I'm a newsie street rat. 

"Of course!" I exclaimed with a smile. "You'se lucky since this is my last pape." 

He gave me a smile back and handed me a nickel. A nickel!

"Oh!" I exclaimed as he grabbed the paper from my  hand. "This is too much sir!"

"Please call me John," John told me grabbing my hand and kissing my knuckles. I felt myself blush at the gesture. "Would a lovely lady such as yourself care to have dinner with me?"

"U-uhm-" I stuttered out not sure what I should say.

"Sorry mister but she's already taken," The familiar voice of Blink stated as he wrapped an arm around my shoulders. I furrowed my eyebrows and I looked at him. He was glaring at John and I was glaring at him.

John's eyes widened, "I didn't mean anything by it." He then waved and left. I felt undoubtedly upset. My chance to move on gone. Who does Blink think he is?

"What the hell was that foar?" I shouted at him with a glare. He didn't make eye contact with me but kept his arm around me. He seemed to try and think of a way to save himself but there was only one way to make up for what he did. My patience was running thin and Blink still wasn't talkin. 

I went to step away from him but he spoke up stopping me, "I love you'se okay!" A gasp escaped me and I felt my heart beat sped up exponentially. I looked into his eye and he seemed incredibly nervous. I gave him a hug. 

I leaned up on my tip toes and whispered into his ear, "I love you'se too."
