My sister Alice was getting married. She was getting married to a man named Frank Wallace. I was iffy about her marrying him, he wasn't rich and he didn't have any education, but she loved him and I respected her decision. She was happy and that's all I could ask for. I ended up being one of her bridesmaids. It was currently the after party, they were officially married. I was sat at a random table, eating some food. There were a few newsboys here which I guess would make sense since I'm pretty sure Frank was one before he tried to get a better job for Alice.

The sound of a chair scraping against the ground caught my attention. Looking to my right I noticed a cute newsboy sitting down next to me. Not being good in social situations I looked back down at my plate of food. Did I just think he was cute? I mean from the glances I took, his blonde hair that was slightly gelled back and his blue eyes that shimmered like crystals where breathtakingly beautiful. How is he a newsboy? He looks more like a leader. He wore a button up shirt and baggy pants that were held up by red suspenders. In the belt loop of his pants was a...pimp cane? Why would he have that?

I suddenly felt myself become conscious of every move I made. Like I have to try and impress this boy whom I found attractive. I took smaller bites of my food and sat up a bit straighter than before. I felt a small blush cover my cheeks as I felt his eyes on me. Or maybe that was just my imagination? I looked over at him and caught his stare. I felt my breath hitch as he didn't look away, but instead smirked.

"Uhm, hello," I said softly trying to break the tension.

"Hello sweetheart," He replied back with a strong Brooklyn accent. I felt my heart flutter at the pet name but it was also unusual.

"M-my name is (y/n), not sweetheart," I grumbled out looking away from the cute boy.

"Pretty name foar da pretty lady," He smirked leaning a bit closer to me. "Da name's Spot, Spot Conlon. Nice ta meet'cha."

He was flirting! With me! I don't know how to flirt back, but I don't know if I even could.

"Nice to meet you too Spot," I said sending him a smile.

"You'se da brides friend?" He asked pointing out my bridesmaids dress.

"Sister," I corrected. "You're the grooms friend?" I asked.

He nodded, "Would you'se like ta dance?"

My body felt warm and I didn't know what to say. I don't know how to dance and I didn't want to make a fool of myself in front of everybody INCLUDING Spot! I fiddled with my dress and looked down to my lap.

"I don't know how to," I shrugged.

"Jus' follow my lead," Spot said standing up and offering me his hand. I looked at it for a few seconds before taking it and letting him drag me onto the dance floor. There weren't many people dancing. Alice and Frank were still dancing and so was ma and pa, but that was it. Everyone else was chatting with each other and eating. Spot placed his hands on my waist and I placed my hands on his shoulders. We swayed gently back and forth, which I felt comfortable doing. He spun me around a couple times making me giggle. When the song ended Spot dipped me and our faces were very close. We stared into each others eyes for what seemed like forever before he lifted me back up and kissed the back of my hand.

We sat down and talked the rest of the night away. Not only was he cute, but he was funny and was very sweet towards me. Everything was done people were leaving, I was heading off with my parents and they were ready to leave. So I took this chance to ask Spot something.

"Will I see you again?" I asked and my parents patiently waited for me to be done.

"You know it," He smirked. "If you'se evah need me go to dah Brooklyn Newsboy Lodging and ask foar me. I'll tell my boys that if a pretty lady asks foar me ta let her."

I nodded and pecked his cheek, "I'll see you then." I then left with my parents to go home.

I couldn't stop thinking about the cute boy that I met at my sisters wedding.
