May I warn you that I don't know too much about these 2 characters, let alone the ship,soo...yeah-
Mitch was wandering around, unsure on what to do. He could take a quest, sure, but he had already done 2 that day.
Micheal was off somewhere, Bren was...actually, he didn't know. Either way, he was bored out of his mind and was about to just take another quest when he accidentally ran into Pat, who had been reading and walking, making the 2 of them slightly stumble backwards. "Hey watch where your going– Oh. Hey Pat." Mitch said. He had small tolerance– Or rather, soft spot, although he didn't like admitting that– for Pat, he never knew why.
"Ah– Sorry Mitch."
"It's fine," Mitch said. (In this Pat is gonna have, like, reading glasses cause why not) Pat realized his glasses fell off, and looked around for them. "You good..?"
"I can't find my glasses– Could you help me?"
"Alright fine." Mitch glanced around and saw that Pat was about to step on the glasses, which were slightly under a table."Pat wait–" It was too late. There was a crack, and Pat froze, bending down to pick them up. He tried to put them on, and low and behold the lenses were cracked and they were a tad crooked, though you couldn't tell at first glance. Pat sighed. "Ugh, really?"
"Sorry..?"
"No, no, it wasn't your fault I'm just annoyed cause now I need new glasses," Pat sighed again. "These will just have to do. I'll see you later, Mitch." Pat walked off and Mitch watched him go. "Hmm.." Mitch thought for a moment before walking off.
Later that day Mitch had decided on walking around Atlantide. Before he went however, he had gotten Pat's glasses, he wanted to try and do him a favor. Er, he was calling it a favor anyway. Even so, he was trying to find a glasses shop, and he didn't really want to ask anyone. He was wandering around for a while, and it was getting late. He sighed, slightly annoyed, before seeing one shop that was about to close. He squinted a bit and realized: Wait, that's the glasses shop! He ran over to the person who was about to close it up. "Hey! Hey, could you do one more thing before you close?" The lady jumped a bit. "O-Oh, uh, it depends on what it is."
"A new pair of glasses with whatever prescription this is," Mitch held up Pat's glasses. "Uhm–"
"C'mon lady please?"
"Alright, fine, give me the glasses." Mitch handed them to her and she went inside. Now it was really late, and he knew Michael wouldn't be all that worried, just a little annoyed for not saying anything about a quest running this late. The lady finally came out with a bag. "Here you go sir,"
"Thanks, here." Mitch said, handing her some money before running off.
Mitch ran into the guildhall and saw everyone sitting/standing in it,including Micheal.
"Oh! Hello Mitch, wonderful of you to join us." Micheal greeted. "May I ask what quest went on this late?"
"Uh–"
"And I've asked everyone except you, what happened to my reading glasses?" Pat said, slightly annoyed, not at Mitch, just at the fact that he somehow broke and lost his glasses all in one day.
"Would you all let me talk? I just went to Atlantide, that's all."
"Im assuming that's the bag with the money from the quest?" Michael asked, pointing at the bag with the glasses.
"No," Mitch sighed. "Just– Here Pat, it's about your glasses." He tossed the bag onto the table where Pat was sitting. Pat glanced at him before hesitantly opening it and seeing the new pair.
"Oh, wow– Mitch you didn't have to,"
"Well I did, so there." He put them on, looking around and down at what he was reading. "These are nice..thanks Mitch!"
"It's no problem." Mitch went a little pink in the face, looking away as he sat down next to Pat.
"Why are you so nice to him? Everyone else your an asshole to.." Bren asked, drinking some beer. "Oh shut up Bren," Mitch said, slightly annoyed.
"What? I'm just pointing it out.." Mitch huffed, still a little pink. Pat, took notice, and nudged him a little after everybody took the attention off of him and back to their activities. "You good..?"
"Wha–? Oh, uhm.." Mitch started to realize something. These feelings, they were...something more. And upon realizing this, other emotions hit him like a truck. Even if he did act on his feelings, which he didn't think he would let himself do anyway because of his pride (and maybe a little bit of dignity), it would never work.
Pat had told countless stories about his wife and 2 kids he had.
He didn't deserve to get marked as a cheater. Pat was better than that. Mitch was better than that. So he stayed quiet.
"Mitch..?" Pat waved a hand in front of his face.
"Oh! Uhm. Yeah. I'm fine. I think I'm gonna go though." He got up and went to his room. "O– kay..?" Pat said, slightly confused, a little worried.
But this was Mitch he was thinking about. He was sure Mitch was just being...himself.
