Suffocating Flowers

Love hurts.

Devin learnt that the hard way. The moment he realized what his feelings were, and who they were towards- His chest, his heart if you will, ached. And for good reason at that.

Devin coughed into his hands. This had been going on for a couple days now. After realizing his feelings towards...a certain lightening wizard, he started wheezing.

Then it became full blown coughing, after the wheezing. Weird.

Then it became coughing up blood. Worrying.

Then soon enough (minutes after the blood showed up) he started coughing up flower buds.

The hanahaki disease wasn't rare, but wasn't common either- Either way, it was dangerous. Devin knew that, everybody knew that. He could die if he didn't figure something out, but he already got rejected by Ritchie. He had enough common sense to know he should back down, for now anyway.

Obviously that was becoming a problem though.

"Devin, this is going to get real unfortunate for both of us if you don't do something." Eden complained. Although he didn't necessarily care for Devin, he did care for the body itself. After all he couldn't rise to power again if he didn't have a body, and unfortunately Devin, to do it.

"Eden, I- I-I don't know what to do. He already rejected me," Devin mumbled. He was sitting in front of the vanity mirror he had in his room, at a loss.

"I doubt he meant it." If Eden could roll his eyes he would.

"Oh how would you know- Just," Devin sighed. "be quiet, please." Eden didn't say anything else, which was slightly surprising, as Devin was expecting another backhanded comment. But it didn't come, and Devin just sighed again. He had promised David (and Lucas by default) that he would watch Ech for a bit. David would drop them off, Lucas would pick them up, since David apparently had stuff to do.

"Okay Ech, you wanna just chill here in my garden?" Devin had gone down to his little underground garden area with Ech.

"Plant!"

"Okay then, here's a watering can, you can water them." He said with a smile, handing Ech the watering can.

"Plant!" They started running around, watering plants.

Devin sighed. While he loved his garden, it made him feel some kind of way considering what was happening to him. He coughed into his hands, more blood, flower buds, and- flower petals. Thats not good... Devin thought, just tossing the buds and such to the side and wiping his hands on his shirt. There weren't too many flower petals, but it was still a bit concerning...he hadn't even bumped into Ritchie today!

Upon thinking this, unfortunately for him, he coughed up more blood, flower buds, and petals. Rose buds and petals, specifically, since those were Devin's favorite flower, and probably Ritchie's if that's what he was coughing up.

"Plant..?" Ech asked worriedly, hearing all the coughing.

"Oh! Uhm, I'm fine, Pla– I-I mean Ech. I promise." Devin hid his hands and chuckled nervously. Ech squinted at him, then continued watering flowers. He sighed once more, and once again tossed the buds and petals aside before wiping his hands.

"Hello? Anyone down here?" Lucas called out a few minutes later, to which Ech ran up and hugged his legs. He chuckled. "Hello Ech," He glanced up at Devin. "Hey Devin!"

"Hi. We've just been down here the whole time, taking care of my plants, y'know, aheh." Lucas was quiet for a moment, looking slightly confused, if not a little concerned.
