Chapter 26- They don't know anything
-Harry's POV-
After me and Lyric hung out that first time, we really hit it off. She was extremely shy and on occasion a bit awkward to be around, but she knew that about herself, and she was totally comfortable with who she was. That's what I liked about her so much, she was completely confident but at the same an extreme introvert, it was pretty fascinating.
I could never really tell what she was thinking, even after we'd spent a ton of time together she was still mostly a mystery to me. I only knew the things that she wanted me to know about her.
Once we had both finished our first year of school we actually got an apartment together, at first it was just supposed to be for the summer, but with school fast approaching again, we'd decided not to live on campus again.
Niall and Dynasty had stayed with us for the summer, but about two weeks ago they got into a major fight and ended up breaking up, so now it was just Niall. Lyric missed having another girl around the apartment, but I told her that it would only be a matter of time before Niall had a new girlfriend for her to hang out with.
"So, are you ever going to get a job and start help paying the bills or are you going to freeload for the rest of our college lives?" I asked Niall as I slumped down onto the couch next to him. I didn't mind letting Niall freeload off of me and Lyric, but of course I had to give him shit about it sometimes. What kind of friend would I be if I didn't?
"I'm probably going to freeload off of you for the rest of my life man, with the way things are going at this point." Niall complained. He was still pretty upset about Dynasty, and he wasn't too thrilled about the grades he'd gotten for the final semester of the past school year either.
"It's a new school year dude. You can redeem yourself, everyone screws around their freshman year. You just gotta pull your head out of your ass and do some real work in class." I stated, flicking on the tv. Nothing good was on really, so I just left it on a channel that was playing a football game with teams I really didn't care anything about.
"Yeah yeah. I get it. You've said this to me 8 million times already." He shrugged off my comment.
"I know, I'm trying to make it stick in your head." I laughed.
"So what's the deal? When are you and Lyric going to get together man? I mean, you guys live together. There has to be something between you guys by now." Niall said, turning the volume down on the tv.
"We're just friends dude. I don't think she's interested in me in that way anyway." I shrugged.
"But you're interested in her that way?" He asked, raising an eyebrow at me.
"I might be... I don't really know. I just don't want to screw things up."
"Dude, you're so ignorant! Of course she's interested in you. But she's shy, so she's not going to make the first move. I mean seriously, do you know her at all?" Niall laughed.
"So you think I should make a move then?" I asked.
"You don't need my permission mate! If you like this girl, act on it." Niall instructed.
"Maybe I will then." I said, more to myself than Niall. I saw a smile form on Niall's face out of the corner of my eye.
"Hey guys, come downstairs, I need your help carrying something!" Lyric exclaimed right as she opened the door to apartment.
Me and Niall both groaned at the same time, but stood up without further arguments. The smell of the warm summer air mixed with pollution hit my nose once I stepped out of the door and started walking down the rusty metal stairs. The three of us walked down to Lyrics car in silence, and once we saw what she wanted us to carry, we were even more silent.
