I apologize for the slow updates. Hopefully I will get a bit better at this haha. No one told me that when writer's block hits, it hits hard. Anyways, I hope you are enjoying so far! Let's keep it goin.

"Oh my god!" I yelled as I hopped up. I wrapped Cindy in a tight hug.

She laughed, "I missed you too!"

"I thought you weren't coming until later this week!" I exclaimed.

    "I wanted to surprise you!"

"Well you did a damn good job," I smiled. In fact, I couldn't stop smiling. I grabbed Soda's hand and helped him up. "Cindy, this is Sodapop. Soda, this is Cindy." I was so happy to finally be introducing them to each other.

"I've heard great things," Soda said, sticking his hand out.

"That's surprising," Cindy joked. "I've heard great things about you too. Thanks for watching over my girl."

    "It's a pleasure," Soda laughed.

Cindy introduced her boyfriend Micheal and I introduced them to everyone else. Cindy explained that Micheal was friends with someone at the party which is why they were there too. Everything was coming together so perfectly.

After an hour of sitting by the fire, the sun had gone down. Cindy nudged me, "Look how good the surf is tonight."

I looked out at the ocean. She was right. The waves coming in were almost perfect. "Yeah, if only we had some boards," I said, looking around. Then I found them. There were about six sitting a few feet away. Cindy had spotted them too.

"Who's boards are those?" She asked aloud.

"Mine," a guy sitting across the fire from us said. "You can use them if you want."

I looked to Cindy, both of us having big grins on our faces. I hadn't been surfing in so long. We both shot up.

"I didn't know you surfed," Soda said.

"Honey, I grew up by the beach," I said, kissing his cheek and patting his shoulder. "Context clues."

He just laughed at me. Cindy and I both grabbed a board.

"Far out," someone called, leading a few others to come join us.

We all made our way to the water, paddling toward the surfable waves. It was like I was back home. I had missed feeling the cold water weave through my fingertips as I paddled. I missed the feeling of when you catch your first wave of the night. It all brought me back. Back to a place I missed dearly.

Cindy and I caught a few more waves before we paddled back to shore. I sat back down by Soda. He wrapped a towel around my shoulders.

"You think you could teach me how to do that?" Two-Bit asked.

"Yeah so you can use your skills back in Tulsa?" I said, raising an eyebrow.

He thought for a second and then nodded happily. I just laughed. We sat by the fire until nearly midnight before we went back to the house. Soda was taking a shower and I was sitting on the bed. Steve knocked on the door.

"Hey, can I come in?" He asked.

"Yeah, is everything okay?" I asked, waving him in.

He sat down on the bed next to me, "I never got the chance to say sorry about what I said. I never meant to cause bad blood between you and Soda. He loves you. You know that right?"

"Of course I know that. You don't have to apologize," I replied.

"I should have a long time ago. He really loves you. You should have seen his face when he was watching you surf tonight. I don’t want you to ever feel like you have to doubt his love for you."

"I appreciate that Steve. A lot."

"Of course. Thanks for making my buddy happy," he smiled.

"It's my pleasure," I smiled back.

    "Goodnight," he said, getting up.

    "Night Steve."

I laid back down in bed. Soda came and joined me shortly after. Hearing Steve tell me how much Soda loved was special. It made lying in bed with him that night so much sweeter.
