Aria pov

"It wasn't my fault! You asked me to lie for you! I mean what kind of father does that to his teenage daughter?!" I yelled, throwing my hands up to indicate my anger. Byron stared back at me, shocked.

It had started out like every other argument. I came home to find him sat at the table, hands crossed in front of him, waiting. He told me to take a seat, and so I did. He then proceeded to tell me that my behaviour wasn't any good, and that I needed to up my act. So I yelled, and we got to the 'Meredith' argument.

And now he was looking away, avoiding eye contact. I wish he would just apologise, and we could move on and stop going at each other's throats. But my mum left yesterday after another big argument because she found text messages between my father and Meredith. And they weren't the type you'd show to your family members. And of course my dad had no defense, as he could hardly say someone stole his phone. So my mum left, as did Mike. And then my dad got frustrated, and kicked me out.

And now here we are again. Right back at it again. Just like I've always said. He just doesn't understand that he should move on. He was a married man, for goodness sakes! At least Ezra was single!

I yelled at him some more before grabbing my bag, and running outside. I had my car keys, and climbed into it. Blinded by the rage, being defeated by the thoughts swirling through my mind, I flew down the road, way past the speed limit for the town. I found myself driving for driving's sake. If there was a left turn, I'd take one. If not then I would go right. I wasn't exactly lost, as everybody is always a little lost. But I didn't know this part of town so well. That's when I got too wrapped up in my thoughts, thinking.

My dad and Meredith.

Meredith and my dad.

Glass.

Wait, what?

Glass flew around me, and I realised a little too late that something had hit me. I had stopped at a red light, and a car had hit me. And now I was sailing through the window, with bits of glass flying around me. It was magical, if not the scariest thing I'd ever been involved with. Worse than the time my ex boyfriend had offered me drugs. Worse than the time I'd sneaked on to a train without a ticket. Worse than the time I had almost been arrested for theft when in actual fact it was a girl who had been my friend.

This was way worse. Because there, standing at the side of the road as I went through the window was none other than my girlfriend.

Spencer.

Spencer pov

I had been on a night time walk. I like to walk around to clear my head. I had found myself walking in a direction I hadn't usually taken, towards the part of town that I didn't really go to at night. That's when I waited at the side of a street for the right chance to cross, and noticed the car. Or should I say, I noticed the driver.

Aria was waiting for the lights to change, and I tried to catch her attention. Maybe she was just driving around. Maybe she needed to talk or clear her head. But then, as she looked over my way, a car rammed into hers, and she was projected forward. Her belt didn't offer much help, as it malfunctioned and she went straight through the window. Her eyes met with mine as she blacked out.

I let out a wail. Or a scream. Kind of like the noise a dying animal would make when it knew there was no hope. I cursed my choice of shoes as I tried to run, not bothered whether I fell or not. A crowd had gathered, and some guy was on the phone. He was talking in a quick, authoritive voice. But I only cared about Aria.

The ambulance flew around the corner, lights flashing and sirens blaring. I held on to Aria's limp and lifeless hand, trying to see through the waterfall of tears cascading down my cheeks.

"Are you a friend or family member?" A paramedic asked as another group of them began to remove her from the vehicle.

"Yes, I'm her girlfriend." I stuttered through the tears, a knot in my throat. He nodded, and led me to the back of the ambulance where they were hoisting Aria in. The crowd of spectators were whispering amongst themselves, and a guilty looking teenager stood there with his head hanging. I recognised him as the reckless driver.

"Hey, you!" I began, about to give him a piece of a very pissed off Spencer Hastings. He raised his head, and I knew him.

Noel Kahn.

He was on the verge of tears, and he looked as guilty as he possibly could. I couldn't even be angry anymore, because my attention had focused on the small, dark haired girl in the back of the ambulance. I just shook my head and climbed in.

The drive there was one of the worst journeys I would ever have to make. Holding her hand, I never let go. I never even thought about letting go. I had contacted Ella, knowing she would meet us there. It was her decision if Byron came, not mine. The paramedic, Justin, kept telling me useless information. At least he wasn't telling me it would be okay in a patronizing voice like I was a 5 year old who had spilt coffee over my homework.

We got through the doors, and Justin told me to wait in the waiting room. I nodded, and went to the cafe. I got a coffee, and went to sit back in one of the uncomfortable plastic chairs. I had just rested my head against the wall, and closed my eyes, when I heard my name.

"Spencer?" I opened my eyes to find Ella standing there. She looked terrified and had been crying, and I knew this was as hard on her as it was for me. She sat beside me, and I explained everything as I remembered it. She let me talk, and then we waited together. After a while, I leaned into her and she embraced me. We sort of supported each other while we waited. It was comforting to have her there, holding me so the splintered pieces didn't fall apart. And I knew she felt the same way.

Right now, I only thought of my girlfriend. Who could be alive or dead right now.
