Operation: Stunning sting

Joint Task Force pt. 2

Erik's POV
      I was huddled behind cover as the gunfire continued to force me down until I heard Fury next to me "Maverick! Shoot your fucking gun!" As she popped over the top of the cover and fired a long burst from her Vector. I shook my head and cleared my mind of the fear before I lifted my Ar-15.50 feeling the kick of the rifle and hearing the deep bark as it echoed off the dorm buildings, I heard Hatred yell "where the fuck is agony?!" To which Ela yelled back "did he run?!" To which Mourning yelled at her "say that again and I'll cripple you!" Just as the familiar sound of an M67 frag grenade followed by a much larger explosion silenced the gunfight, I peaked over my cover and saw the wall around the window had disappeared. I looked at the ground below and saw rubble tossed about randomly as Agony walked towards us and waved "hey guys, what's the hold up?" I shook my head in amusement as Fury started handing out jobs "Alright, we know the masks are localized in this building. Maverick take your team and go to the north side, my team will clear the south side and we'll meet up on the 3rd floor, everyone know their job?" Agony lifted his Ak "I'm ready to go hunting boss"
I watched them jog off to the south end of the dorms as I heard buck "think we'll beat them to the 3rd floor?" I looked over as Ela pointed out "not if we don't get a move on" I nodded and spoke "Fuze, lead us in" he nodded and started off to the building. I heard Ela next to me "Mav, is Agony really that good?" I nodded and spoke "he'll be the Ghosts point man, he's always been point. Seriously, you should get to know him. He's a good guy" as I lifted my Ar15 and jogged to catch up with Fuze as he put his cluster charge on the window before I stopped him "Fuze, wait. Agony, you read?" He came back a second later "go for Agony, what's up brother?" I asked "are there any civilians in the building?" He was quiet for a couple seconds before replying "not that the police know of" I responded with "alright, Maverick out" before nodding to Fuze. Fuze returned the nod before stepping back "securing beachhead" as he lifted the detonator and squeezed it sending his charges flying around the room before detonating causing the dust to be shaken off the pillars, frost spoke "I'll never get used to that" as I kicked the rest of the barricade out of the window and Ela spoke "moving interior" I nodded "on your six" as gunfire erupted on the other side of the building  before a huge explosion rocked the building and the gunfight ended as quickly as it started.
Buck spoke "shit, what happened?" I replied "focus, let's get a move on" to which the team responded by stacking up on the door. I squeezed Fuze's shoulder he pushed into the room and we saw masks starting to move to the door to leave the room, we reacted quickly and fired watching the masks hit the ground just as Frost called "I'm putting a trap to cover our six." I motioned Ela to start heading up the steps "Buck, take Fuze and Frost. Clear out that room, Ela and I are moving to the second deck." He nodded as I stacked on Ela "you ready?" She responded in polish "Zawsze jestem gotowy(I'm always ready)" to which I replied "I don't speak polish" she sighed before speaking in English "sorry, I'm used to talking in polish. Agony can understand me so I don't have to switch" I nodded as we started up the staircase only for gunfire on the second floor to cause us to pick up our pace.
When we reached the top of the stairs we heard multiple sets of footsteps moving away from us in different rooms causing us to start following them before I heard a new voice "Sector 1, how copy? Shit sector 1 is down, let's go" I sighed quietly before continuing down the path the person had taken while the gunfire grew in volume. I heard Ela "cholera(damn), that gunfight sounds mean" I nodded before replying "the Ghosts fight mean" just for the distinct thunder of Agony's mine went off followed by screams and more gunfire and a voice I couldn't make out. I peaked around the corner and saw 10 masks corpses strewn about on the ground before a round impacted the wall infront of my face I called into my radio as more rounds impacted the wall and Ela fired back "Agony! Agony, You're shooting at us!" I heard him "well you're shooting at me! And you're still fucking shooting!" To which I replied by pulling Ela's gun down "blue! Blue!" As the gunfire stopped.
I slowly stepped out from around the corner and saw Agony and Fury slowly stand up from behind cover followed closely by Mourning and Hatred, I laughed "Jesus guys, scared the shit out of me" Agony asked "what're you doing here? We were expecting to be on the 3rd floor before you got to the second, where's the rest of your team?" Ela replied "we split up, buck is clearing the first floor" his eyes widened before Fury spoke calmly "Agony, go" to which he took off running leaving Ela and I confused "what's he running for? What's going on?" Mourning spoke "the masks here aren't normal masks, they're better trained, better armed. More dangerous, you made a mistake splitting your team" just as a gunfight erupted on the first deck and Agony yelled into the radio "Keep clearing! I'll pull buck's team out of this!" To which Fury replied "you heard the man, let's go. Ela, Maverick, you're with us from here out"
Viktor's POV
I vaulted the stair railing before running as soon as my feet hit the ground, I ran through the hallways only for a mask to step out infront of me. I ran forwards and body checked him into the wall before pulling my pistol and firing 4 times before I bolstered my pistol and lifted my Ak jogging through the hallways to the gunfire before I came around the corner and saw 7 masks in various positions all in cover until I pulled out one of my mines and armed it throwing it deep into the room taking cover as it detonated and the BBs flew around the room resulting in hisses of pain and I came around the corner to start prosecuting the now stunned masks just as Buck and Fuze did the same thing. The masks stumbling around the room dropped quickly under the crossfire before I yelled "Clear!" To which Frost, Fuze and Buck walked forward "Is the rest of this floor clear?" Buck nodded "this was our last room, they must've set up the ambush knowing we'd split up" I looked over the group "are any of you hurt?" To which Fuze replied in his heavy Russian accent "Frost took round to shoulder, comrade" I walked over and looked at the wound "let's get you fix up, yeah?"
        She nodded and spoke "please?" To which I pulled out my last adrenaline needle "this is gonna sting but you'll be back in the fight" she took a deep breath before I looked at Fuze and Buck "cover the doors, we'll be moving in 30 seconds" they wordlessly moved to their positions before I stabbed the needle into Frosts shoulder while she clenched her teeth. A couple seconds later I said "try to move your arm" she did a full rotation before speaking "it's better but it still hurts" I replied "Form up, you're towards the back" Buck and Fuze walked over before Fuze asked "can I take lead?" I looked over and replied "I'm always point, let's go. We're rallying on Fury" I heard my radio crackle to life "Agony, sitrep. We heard the explosion and gunfight stop, what's happening?" I replied as we walked up the staircases keeping our eyes moving for any masks fury's team missed "We're en route to you, everyone accounted for. 7, no, 8 masks dealt with. Where are you?" She replied "3rd floor, the masks are getting kinda light" I shook my head in amusement "we'll be there shortly, save some fun love" she sighed and spoke "I'll kick your ass after this mission"
       I laughed as we climbed up to the 3rd floor before I heard a light gunfight erupt I sighed and muttered "guess we're missing the fun" to which Fuze went "hmm?" I replied clarifying "we're missing the fun" he replied happily "comrade, I got to use my explosives. It was fun day" I heard buck "I got to shoot the floor out from beneath a mask so I'm having a fun day" I rolled my eyes with a small smile as Frost spoke "I'm the only one having a bad day, I got fucking shot" I joked "you know swearing isn't very lady like" she replied "yeah well neither is killing someone but I do that so you know eat shit" I laughed as we reached the third floor and I reentered the game, all side conversations died the moment our feet hit the floor and our guns were up and ready as we moved towards the gunfight. I came around the corner and saw 3 masks fall as rounds tore through their bodies, I called "Blue! Blue!" We walked around the corner and saw Fury's team I smiled as Buck asked "did we get them all?" Furry shrugged and spoke "if we missed any they're probably gone now, everything's been cleared out" just then a mask stumbled around the corner, we all raised our guns as I noticed the lack of a rifle and started yelling "Get on the fucking ground! now! I swear to god I'll fucking shoot!" The mask complied as Maverick stepped forward to secure the now prisoner of war only for the beeping to catch my attention "Mav, stop."
He froze as I walked forward and pulled open the grey jacket that comes with the mask uniforms do same a suicide vest over a.... Harvard hoodie, I pulled off the Mask's mask and saw a teary eyed college age kid "Hey, I'm gonna get you out of here. Just stay still, Fury, we've got a bomb. Clear out, Hatred I'll need your expertise" he walked forward as Fury looked at Mourning and the Rainbow operators "clear out, we'll meet at the police lines" Ela and Maverick looked like they wanted to protest but ultimately accepted the order and walked off only for Ela to walk back into the room and throw her grzmot mines on the doorways, "here's some extra protection" before disappearing through the doorway as Chris pulled out his bolt cutters and started cutting the padlocks, I asked the girl "what's your name?" She replied through the sobbing "lily" I replied soothingly "lily? That's a beautiful name, what's your major here lily?"
She sniffled and replied "International affairs" I asked another question "any job you want?" She replied still crying "I want to join the CIA" I smiled and replied giving a little information about myself "I'm Viktor, I work really closely with the CIA. I'm like a bodyguard for them, maybe one day I'll be your bodyguard. How does that sound?" She replied, her tone washed out by the racking of sobs as I watched the clock tick down "that sounds nice, I look forward to working with you" just as Chris got the last padlock and spoke "I don't have time to fully disarm." we quickly pulled the bomb vest off lily, I grabbed it and started running for the nearest window as the clock ticked down to the last 15 seconds, I lifted my pistol and shot out a window as the vest hit 10 seconds still running until I was 5 feet away from the window and threw the vest out of it. The vest passed through the window just as the clock hit 3 I turned and tried to get as far away from the blast as I could before it detonated just for the detonation to take out the wall and the overpressure to throw me against a doorframe, I groaned as I laid on the ground holding my head before Fury walked over and pulled me up, I grabbed my head as the pain hit "son of a bitch.... fuck my head hurts. Wait why are you here?" she laughed before replying "you probably got another concussion you idiot, I'm here because hatred caught up with us and sent me up here to check on you" I sighed as I pulled off my sunglasses and saw the broken lens causing me to sigh and drop them to the ground before I pulled out another pair and slid them on she spoke "come on Shades, let's get going. Hatred already brought Lily out" I nodded as I tried to step and felt my knee buckle "fuck" to which Fury replied by putting my arm around her shoulder and saying "lean on me, let's get out of here" we slowly made our way out of the building as officers started flooding in.
We made our way to our teams before I noticed lily sitting on the back of an ambulance wrapped in a towel "hey, wanna help me over to her?" Fury followed my eyes and nodded "sure, I'll get everything done with the officers so we can head back to base" I hobbled my way over before I sat down "hey" she looked over "thank you" I smiled before looking at the scene "anytime, you did good" she looked at me and asked "does it ever get easier? Being that close to death?" I replied still looking off "no, every mission I have that fear you feel right now. But then I remember why I do it, so people like you always have someone in their corner" she looked down and spoke "you said your name is Viktor right?" I nodded before joking "keep that in the down low, I gotta keep being all super secret. You're gonna blow my cover" she chuckled before saying "thank you again, are you okay? Did you make it out unscathed?" I shook my head no before grabbing my forehead "I think I got a concussion and a damaged knee" she looked down and replied "I'm sorry you had to get those to save me" I spoke sternly "listen to me, I'd take a whole hell of a lot more damage if I had to if it meant you got out alive. Anyone on my team would gladly give their lives if it meant any civilian sees tomorrow, this is light work for me. Don't beat yourself up over it" she looked up and nodded.
I pushed myself to my feet and spoke one last time "keep working hard kid, I'll see you in the field. Mention me in your application to the CIA, I'll vouch" she nodded with a small smile "see you in the field" as I limped back to the group, Ela looked over and noticed my state "cholera, naprawdę spieprzyłeś(damn, you really got fucked up)" I nodded and replied "wszystko w ciągu jednego dnia(all in a day's work)" she started to thaw as she replied "może źle cię zrozumiałem(maybe I got you wrong)" as Maverick asked "how are your sunglasses untouched?" To which Mourning answered "He always carries 2 sets of sunglasses" I nodded before speaking "this is the 2nd set" he rolled his eyes and spoke "you and those fucking shades" I laughed before gripping my head "son of a bitch" to which Frost asked "concussion?" I nodded before replying "I fucked up my knee in the fall too, hurts like a bitch" she laughed as Jäger came in for a landing with the helicopter "alright, touching down in 15 seconds" I had Chris put my arm around his neck as we got ready to move towards where Jäger decides to land.
When the helicopter landed we walked out into the field, Chris set me on the blood pan of the helicopter as the other 9 operators climbed into the helicopter, I gave a two finger salute to Lily as the helicopter lifted off that she returned. I sighed as I saw the amount of damage done to the dorm building in the flashing lights of the Cop cars before Jäger turned the helicopter towards Britain as we headed back to Hereford. I heard Ela next to me "zrobiłeś dobrze dla idioty(you did good for an idiot)" I nodded before leaning against Kim "how'd I do boss?" She replied tiredly "you'd do even better if you didn't keep fucking yourself up" I laughed before replying as I brought Erik into this "well you know how we do shit at delta, shit doesn't go right? Make it go right" I heard Erik behind me "too true" to which Kim laughed and replied "you may have been delta, but we all know you're still a crayon eater at heart" I chuckled "you love me" as Buck spoke "well I'm going to sleep I'm fucking tired" I lifted my fist "Amen" as I closed my eyes still leaning against Kim surprised she allowed me to fall asleep against her, while I felt Ela's eyes inspecting me. I heard Erik while I tried to fall asleep "he's an interesting case isn't he?" To which Ela replied "tak(yes), he's definitely got my interest" as I drifted off.
