Dustin and I got pretty close over the next week. We texted constantly and we met up with Birdie and Hadiya between classes to form our own little study group. He promised me since I got back from my camping weekend that we would go on a proper date, fancy dinner at an expensive restaurant.

So, naturally, I had to go shopping for a fancy outfit because none of my clothes or Pippa's clothes fit the bill.

After my shift on Thursday, Pippa met up with me and we went shopping together.

"Why are we shopping again?" Pippa asked. I found that she can be extremely forgetful, so when I make plans with her I just say something like "We are shopping Thursday at 3:00" and repeat it every day leading up to then.

"I have to buy a nice dress for my date tomorrow." I explained as we stepped out of her car.

"Date?" She repeated. "Didn't you just go on a date?"

"Yes." I said. "And we are going out again tomorrow. Like normal people do."

"Oh, with the same guy." She realised. "You didn't tell me about the last one so I kind of assumed it didn't go well. No offence."

"I guess I was too busy with the blackmail thing and camping." Blackmail is such a strange thing to witness. I never really thought I'd find myself or anyone I know in that situation. "But no, it went really well and he's taking me out on a proper date and I want to look posh."

I pointed a nice looking boutique called Daffodil, and we filed in. I picked up a white balloon sleeve dress with tiny pink flowers embroidered over it. "What do you think of this?" I asked, holding it up to Pippa.

"Cute." She noted. "But knowing you, you'll spill something on it."

"True." I sighed.

"Is second date too soon?" I asked. Pippa turned to me, her eyebrow perched higher on her forehead.

"For what?"

"You know," I hinted. "Staying the night."

"You think you might?" She asked.

"I don't know how it works when you're an adult." I explained. "I like him, I trust him, why not?"

"Its a bit fast, don't you think?" She questioned. "You don't want your first time to be with a guy you only just started dating."

I looked up to Pippa, realisation that I hadn't shared my history with Cooper.

"It won't be my first."

Pippa turned to me, confusion over her face. "What?"

"When I was 16. A lot of girls at school were doing it, and I was stupid and worried about being the odd one out. Cooper and I got together... just once and it meant nothing." I explained.

I picked up a burgundy tea-length dress with a lacy corset top and held it out to a still stunned Pippa.

"I would never have expected that from you, Amity."

I felt colour rush into my cheeks and I looked down at the dress.

"I'm not judging!" She justified. "No, no, no! I just meant... you're so timid."

"Right." I nodded.

"I guess you don't really have a reason to wait, then." She muttered. "But if I were you, I'd ask him about his past relationships, you know."

"Yeah," I agreed. "Of course."

I tried picked up a dress, this one was a black satin dress with spaghetti straps and came with a silver diamante belt. After ensuring it fit, I bought the dress and Pippa and I ate some Chinese food for lunch and headed back to our dorm room.

"Whats his name again?" Pippa asked, out of the blue.

"Dustin." I smiled.
