When I returned to my room, the door was ajar and there was shouting from inside. I silently peeked through the gap to see what was happening.

Speak of the devil.

Isaac was sitting on Pippa's bed while she walked back and forth yelling. There was something strange about the way she ranted. She wasn't looking at Isaac, and he didn't seem to be offended. She wasn't yelling at him, she was yelling in general. Isaac nodded his head, not saying a word. She was angry about something that effected both of them, that they agreed on.

If Pippa hated Isaac, why was he in our dorm room?

"I told you it was a bad idea!" Pippa screeched, this time she was attacking Isaac. They were glaring at each other. "I told you to stay away from her! And you did exactly the opposite!"

"I tried to listen, but what happened wasn't entirely my fault!" He shouted back. "We both made a mistake and it's coming back it haunt us."

"You do this! You always have! You lure girls in with your jacket and your hair and you leave them broken."

"Shut up!" He stood up abruptly, stomping up to Pippa, only a couple inches between them. "It wasn't like that and you know it." His voice had slowed and lowered to a deep growl.

A girl and her friend hurried past me, one of them shoving into my shoulder, pushing me into the room and it's awkward energy.

They both turned to me, eyes wide waiting for me to say something and break the tension.

"What are you fighting about?" I asked, mentally slapping myself in the forehead. Way to make the situation worse. I dropped my toiletries back on my dresser and turned back to them, their faces cold and stony.

Pippa gave Isaac one last evil eyed stare before muttering, "I'll talk to you later" to him and pulling me out of our room.

We remained silent, myself a little too confused to even bother asking why we left Isaac in our room. She pulled me up to a white Mazda and forced me inside.

"Am I being kidnapped?" I asked, only partially joking.

She ignored me and started interrogating me. "What did you overhear?"

"I just heard you guys yelling." I lied.

Pippa exhaled a sigh of relief, her shoulders relaxing and her forehead no longer imprinted with wrinkles.

"I know we only just met," I started, sharing a look of sympathy with her. "But you can tell me if somethings bothering you. We're friends now. Thats what friends are for."

"I know, I know." She started. "I do trust you, this is just..." She trailed off, her eyes watching as a blonde girl walked past our car and towards the front office. "This is just old drama. Its not important"

I know she was understating, but I didn't want to push her. "Can we still get sushi?"

I don't know if it was the sushi, or the fact that I have my first day of classes in a couple hours, but my stomach was aching and I was rolling around in my bed trying to get comfortable with no such luck.
