"A job? Here? In your casino? Doing what exactly?" She asked, suspicious of anything he might want her to do.
"Nothing you don't already to at busters Bustin Bar. Seriously what a fuckin name..."
"So... you want me to sing?" She asked.
"Yep. I like your look, I like your voice, I like your spunk. You're perfect to replace my last act."
"What happened to them?" She asked
"They disappointed me." He said with a shrug as he stood and moved to his liquor cabinet to grab two glasses and a bottle of bourbon.
"And you don't want my soul?" She asked as he handed her a glass and poured the booze into it.
"Well I do but I can tell you're gonna make me work for it. So I'm gonna go with a... not right now no." He explained, filling his own glass and sitting down again, setting the bottle on the floor next to him.
"And what if I say I don't want the job?"
"Then you'll see what happens to those who disappoint me..." He warned, sipping his drink. "Either way you're not leaving. I wanna keep you for a while."
She swallowed hard and swirled her drink around in her glass. "Fine..." She said after a while.
"Fine?" He asked
"I'll work here... but! On one condition..."
He raised an eyebrow. "Oooh negotiating are we? Ok I'll play along little girl. What do you want?"
"I want to find out who my parents are... You're the devil. You know almost as much as God and what you don't know you can find out. If you look into finding out who my parents are...or even were I'll work for you..."he smirked.
"And if I succeed such a feit? Do I get a prize?" He asked
She was quiet for a long minute. "I'll sign my soul over to you if you find out who the are or were..."
"Don't say that lightly ruby... once your soul is mine I can do what I want with you... you understand?"
She nodded slowly. "I do. I don't care. That's what I want."
He held out his hand and it felt like a light breeze began to blow through the room as his eyes began to glow again, "do we have a deal then?"
She was hesitant but she swallowed back her fear and nodded, taking his hand, shaking it. "We do."
There was a red glow around  their hands and runes appeared on her hand and his and she yelped as they burned into her skin, making her drop the glass in her other hand, it shattered on the floor.
He smiled a wide toothy smile and when the glow disappeared he pulled her over onto his lap, her hand close to his face as he inspected it. "Been a while since I've had these on me..."
"What are they?" She asked, trying to catch her breath as she shifted uncomfortably on his lap.
"Well these are runes that say that I will not be able to lie to you. So that when I bring you information on your folks you'll know it's the honest truth. If I try to lie to you the runes will burn me." He said with a shrug.
"Didn't seem to bother you just now..." She muttered, pulling herself off her lap and fixing her blouse.
"Oh but it will if I lie. Example. Ruby the sky is turning a bright green color." He said as he held his hand up and he let out a moan of pain as his flesh sizzles on his hand.
"But of course that means you can't lie to me either..." He said as he rubbed his hand.
She looked at her hand in awe and nodded. She had nothing to hide anyway.
The devil stood. "Well then. Now that that's all done. DICE get your good for nothing ass in here!" He yelled over his shoulder, making ruby flinch.
A moment later dice opened the door and folded his hands in front of him. "Yes boss?"
"I'd like to reintroduce you to ruby. She's gonna be our new lead singer in the bar."
"Boss...you can't expect the crew to work with her. She broke chip's nose and knocked one of my back teeth out." Dice said in protest.
"I can and I do expect the crew to work with her. She was fighting for her life. Get over yourselves.. You're demons for my sake...." He said folding his arms.
Dice closed his eyes and took a breath. "Fine. Fine. Come on. I'll show you where you'll be staying." He said stepping back and gesturing to the door and ruby stepped carefully over the broken glass on the floor to head out the door.
"And dice... if I see one hair out of place on her head I'll make your head roll..." the devil warned with a love growl once ruby was out of ear shot.
Dice sighed. "Yes boss." He said tightly before heading into the hall and began to lead ruby away from the devils office.
He took her into an elevator at the end of the hall and when the door shut he slammed her against the wall and glared at her as she struggled under his hold. "Let's make one thing perfectly clear. The devil is my boss. But now I'm yours. I can do to you what I want and I plan to make your life here hell for what you did. So you better wise up real quick and watch your back.."
She glared up into his green eyes and smirked, "what's wrong dicey? Are you mad you got your ass kicked by a mortal girl?" She asked and dice growled.
"Why you little.." the door opened behind him and he let her go. "Whatever. Come on." He said as he fixed his shirt and she took a deep breath before hurrying after him. Dice was scary but she wasn't gonna let him think he had any power over her.
He brought her to a door and opened it, handing her a key and she stepped inside. It was a magnificent room. Simple but beautiful. Everything she would need was there. Far better than what she was used to back home.
"Make yourself at home. I wouldn't recommend leaving this room until tomorrow during work hours. Some of the others might not be as nice as me." He said as he shut the door and left her alone.

She took a deep breath before falling to her knees. Correction. THAT was the scariest thing she had ever been through...
