Honesty Is Always Best

The devil shut down the casino after that, ashamed that that had happened in front of all his patrons and his staff. Once the place was empty he locked himself in his room and stared into the fire in his harth. Why was she crying? Why was she angry? Why WASNT he angry that she hit him and embarrassed him? Did he...did he feel bad about trying to bring another girl around her? But why? Ruby had rejected him at every turn... It made no sense.

"Ruby open up! We just wanna make sure you're ok!" Dice called as the rest of the crew crowded around the door, wanting to help their new friend.
"Just go away!" She called from inside.
They all sighed and shuffled off to their respective rooms for the night.

After a while ruby slipped out of her room and back down into the casino. No make up, hair down and lose, wearing just a simple blouse and skirt, walking barefoot over the cold stone floor.
She hugged herself as she made her way up on the stage and looked out over the empty tables and she sighed. This was so stupid.
She sighed and sat on the stool she had set out previously for her show and picked up the guitar next to it. She had wanted to sing a country love song for chips and wheezy but...She could save that for another day.
She strummed the guitar gently and sighed as she began to sing quietly, her voice echoing gently over the empty casino and down the hall.

The devil looked up from where he sat and towards his door. "Ruby?" He whispered, hearing her voice echo through the building and slowly he made his way to stand next to the stage, watching her. She was raw and unapologetically her. She was the most beautiful creature he had ever seen. He wanted her for more than just her soul. He wanted her heart as well...
When she strummed the last cord he began to applaud her and she gasped and nearly fell off the stool she sat on. She blushed wildly and put the guitar back on its stand.
"How long were you standing there?" She asked as he climbed up on the stage and approached her.
"Long enough for you to make my heart ache." He told her as he came to stand just in front of her.
She hmphed and crossed her arms, pouting a bit, lowering her eyes, "where's your girlfriend?"
"She's not my girlfriend ruby." He said, reaching out a claw to push some hair behind her ear and drag it down her jawline and make her look at him.
"Coulda fooled me. Lulu." She mocked.
"Ruby what is your problem?" He asked with a growl.
And she glared at him and threw her hands down in frustration. "You! You're my fucking problem!"
He blinked and took a step back. The devil. Stepped away. From ruby. A mortal by all rights.
"Me? Wh-what about me? Am I not allowed to see women? You have rejected me at every possible turn ruby! I wouldn't think that would bother you!"
"Well it fucking does and you fucking know it! You knew it would bother me because you brought her to see me and you had that sexy fucking smirk on your face because you thought you'd get a rise out of me!"
"Yeah ok I'll admit that but I didn't expect you to fucking hit me!"
"I should have hit you harder but I would have broke my hand on your hard ass skull!"
At this point the were mere inches from eachother faces ad they yelled at eachother and went back and forth.
"Well maybe you shouldn't go around hitting immortal beings!"
"Well maybe immortal beings should stop fucking around with my emotions like I'm some sort of pull string doll!"
"Well maybe you shouldn't make such cute faces when I fucking mess with you then I wouldn't want to do it anymore!"
"Oh you'd love that wouldn't you? If I made taking my soul so easy for you!"
"Easy! You think it's easy having to hear about what bull shit you've been through over your life? To hear the woman I love was found in a fucking trashcan!...."He froze as soon as he heard what he said and so did ruby.
"What did you say?" She whispered, her shoulders relaxing a little as she looked up at him.
"I... I said to hear that you were..." He hissed as his rune burned and she stepped closer.
"Word for word Lucifer. What did you say?" She asked as she placed a hand on his cheek.
"The woman I love....that's What I said...." He admitted as he placed a hand over hers and she felt a little tear run down the side of her cheek as she realize his rune didn't burn him... He was telling the truth.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled herself up to him, kissing him passionately.
He put his arms around her as well and pulled her close, matching her passion with the kiss and he snaked his forked tongue between her lips and moaned into the kiss as her body pressed against his.
