Chapter 4: Examination

Wing was eating the pancakes I brought in earlier while sitting on the wood logs of my ceiling "Wing!" I gasped. My friends looked up to see her smiling down at us.

"Did it hurt you?" She asked Bianca. Bianca looked confused while holding her hand that was shocked.

"Oh... Just a bit. I'm fine"

"That is good" Wing looked back at me "You were amazing, Blade" she smiled "You just met your Pokémon, but I already saw a connection with you two" she looked at my friends "All of you just met your Pokémon, and it is a perfect match. I am glad to see it" she took another bite off her pancake "This is yummy" I can't believe I forgot she was in my room. I was so excited that all I could think about was one thing!

"I-I'm glad you like it" I slowly looked at Cheren staring at me, like he was thinking of what I was afraid mom would do when she finds out about her "C-Cheren! It's not what it looks like!"

"Oh my" Bianca held her chin, staring at Wing "I didn't know you were that kind of guy, Blade" I flinched "Well, I guess all boys are the same" she shrugged, which made Cheren visibly mad and quickly grabbed my shirt to pull me into his angry face. I freaked out at the sudden movement and his scary face.

"Blade, you better explain yourself" I panicked and wiggled away from his grasp and fell backwards, landing on someone behind me. I looked back to see Wing helping me up.

"T-Thanks..." I said before facing Cheren and Bianca standing next to each other, looking spectacle of me, wondering about who I decided to bring into my house "You guys... You see" I looked at Wing nervously. She looked at my friends and held her chest to introduce herself.

"Hello, my name is Wing. It is nice to meet you. Blade found me in the woods after I was caught up in an accident and brought me here to give me aid. He took very good care of me and has not done anything wrong to me. We are friends, and he promised me he would take me to the Celestial Tower" I stared at her politeness, wondering how there was a language barrier just yesterday.

"Really?" Cheren crossed his arms in disapproval "So you're saying you two just met and you already made a promise like that?" He narrowed his eyes at me "You promised to let her come with us, I assume?" I gulped and nodded.

"Yeah"

"How could you be so dumb!? Bringing a stranger into your house? She could had killed you in your sleep!"

"Why would I do that...?" Wing looked like she wanted to cry. I quickly stood up for her.

"She wouldn't! And she didn't! I know what I did was wrong, but I couldn't help but help her... she's..." she's so familiar to me...

"What are the chances?! We agreed to go on this journey together and you decided you'd bring someone without saying anything!?" Cheren argued, making Wing tear up. Bianca hurried over to consult her and move her away from us.

"It was the last minute! I couldn't just let her go out there on her own!" I said.

"Why not?!"

"She doesn't know anything about Unova!" The room was silent "Her dad abandoned her here and I found her unconscious in the woods! It was my choice if I wanted to bring her with me! We all already agreed that we weren't going to slow the other person down, so why does it matter!?" We planned on traveling together, but at our own pace. I know Cheren was just looking out for me, but this issue is different now. I want to protect Wing the best I can. I can't let her leave on her own... especially when I still don't know why she was familiar to me.

"It is okay..." Wing sobbed "I do not want to burden anyone. My dad trusted me to find the tower, so I should not rely on anyone now that I understand your language" I frowned at her as she forced a smile "I have learned enough through you and your books. I think I will be fine" Bianca pulled her back when she was trying to leave.
