I stepped back and placed my hand on my hips. I looked around my room, making sure that anything I wanted to take with me on this trip was in my bag.
Toothbrush. Check.
Aunt Jackie's. Check.
Detangling brush. Check.
Bonnet. Check.
Cool, we have everything so now I am ready to go. I slipped on my nike slides while texting Asia letting her know that I'm on the way. After turning off everything I grabbed my bag and purse and rushed to the car.
After putting everything in, I jumped in and immediately put on my Bluetooth. I had to hear my slow jams before I'm surrounded by nothing but trap music. Honestly..this little getaway is really needed. It's like so much shit has happened at one time but the only thing that really happened fast was...me and Dustin. Then my parents anniversary dinner is coming up and I just KNOW that my dad is just dying to meet Dustin. Only because my talks entirely too much. I guess that the downside of being the only child.
Anywho, my thoughts were cut short when I pulled into Asia's driveway and saw Asia taking pictures next to her minivan. I park smoothly and jumped out, grabbing my purse and keys in the process.
" FINALLY! I've been ready to go since I woke up this morning "
" Good morning to you also, where is Dj and Dustin? " I put my suitcase in the back and adjusted my purse on my shoulder while fidgeting with my charger.
" They went to the bathroom, I am soooooo glad you decided to come with me. I did not want it to be just me and two idiots. " We both start laughing and she smacks her lips. " I should've took my hair down also...or at least got box braids. This sew in is not going to be ok this trip "
" I was going to do locs but I didn't have time, between school and shopping for gifts for my parents. I really haven't had the time for anything "
" Hmm even Dustin... " She winked as we both watched the boys run out to the van. " Are y'all ready to go? It's gonna be a good drive and I think we should get on the road ASAP "
We all nodded and hopped in the van, Dj and Asia in the front while me and Dustin were in the back. Dustin kissed my cheek and laid his head on my lap. He smiled and looked up at me while I just played in his curly hair. Finally we were off.
