As we wandered further into the woods, my eyes glanced around for a moment in the hopes that I would catch sight of Catra but she was sadly nowhere to be found. I knew that i had to be patient, though.
"We will find them," I said to the others, as I glanced towards them for a moment. "It might take some time but just as I'm not giving up on the hope that Catra will forgive me, I am not going to give up on looking for them. We all saw what happened last time! Catra got....taken control of again and I wasn't there. I can't let that happen again. I won't," I stated firmly.
Glimmer and Bow simply gave me reassuring nods, then, though there was also a flicker of concern in their eyes.
As I caught sight of my reflection in a river near the trees, I could understand why. I had dark silver circles under my eyes and I was certain no amount of under eye concealer could cover these up. I winced as I raised a hand to my back and found, through my shirt, that there was a scar there. I must have got that from the fight with the robots.
"Whatever. I'm fine, really," I said.
Glimmer and Bow looked notably unconvinced.
"Adora, we've been travelling for hours! Maybe we should rest up," Glimmer suggested.
I glanced towards her, then, and gave a slight nod of my head. I was too tired to argue with her, in all honesty.
It was no use. If I tried to move on any further then I might have literally passed out. I supposed that I simply had to hope that Catra wouldn't get herself in any more trouble while I was asleep.
We set up camp in the forest and soon fell asleep close to each other, so that we would be able to generate some warmth. It wasn't that late yet but the sky above us was growing darker, save for the light of the moons above us that illuminated the area.
We ended up only sleeping for a few hours, before Glimmer awoke again and shook Bow and I to get us to wake up.
"Glimmer...what is it?" I asked her.
She just nodded up ahead, where there was a small robot.
I sighed in irritation but soon got up from the ground and made my way towards the robot with my sword in my hand, just in case. I had to be careful. The scar that I had received in the last battle still hurt somewhat.
"Wait! I'm on your side," it said.
I narrowed my eyes at the metallic creature, then.
"Are you sure about that?" I asked them.
"My name is Metal and yes! I'm on your side. Entrapta rewired me...besides, you're looking for Cat girl, aren't you?" Metal inquired.
Well, that was one way to refer to her.
I turned back to Glimmer and Bow for a moment to get their opinions on this matter.
Glimmer stepped forward then.
"I'll handle this," she whispered to us, before she returned her attention to the robot in front of her, who simply stared back at Glimmer with curiosity. Glimmer cleared her throat before she spoke again. "Ahem. Who are you and who do you work for?" Glimmer asked, as her eyes narrowed with suspicion.
"I literally just told you," Metal said.
Who knew robots could be so sassy?
"Anyway, the point is that I know you're looking for Entrapta and the others because Entrapta updated my AI software! She's great like that. She's kind of like our mother, anyway...but some of the others wiring glitched and they became bad to the...well, I was going to say bone but we robots don't have bones," Metal stated, "Bad to the...disc drive? Anyway, I can help you get to the others! I know where Entrapta is!" Metal said.
"Well, that's actually pretty helpful," Glimmer muttered then, as she glanced back to Bow and I for a second. "Okay, robot boy! Lead the way!" she exclaimed.
Metal beeped cheerfully, if a robot could even begin cheerfully, and soon began to lead the way.
Bow moved closer to Glimmer, then, as he turned to her with an expression of curiosity.
"Are you sure we can trust this thing?" he asked.
"Use your imagination, Bow! This robot guy can lead us back to Entrapta and then we can reach the others," Glimmer said decisively.
"I mean, I don't know, Glimmer...maybe Bow has a point. You know, stranger danger and all-" I released a nervous laugh, then, as Glimmer looked back at me with mild irritation, "Okay, okay. Let's just keep moving."
"That's the plan!" Glimmer said cheerfully, as she hurried forward a little so she could keep up with Metal.
"Alright, alright, I'm confused. When did we start trusting robots?" a familiar voice asked, then.
Bow and I turned to find that Mermista and Sea Hawk were stood behind us. Mermista was the one who had spoken.
"Come on, Mermista! This is so very exciting! A robot adventure!" Sea Hawk exclaimed.
Mermista pinched the bridge of her nose, then, as she continued to walk with us.
"Alright. Fine. Let's just hope this thing doesn't shoot us," she said.
I felt my eyes widen with surprise, then.
"Where did you two even come from?" I found myself asking.
"Oh yeah. We followed you. You guys always rush off together and Sea Hawk and I here felt left out! So...we came to investigate," Mermista said, "You know, it's probably lucky that we're here. You might need back up or something."
"Okay, quiet, Mermaid girl," Metal said, then.
Mermista raised an eyebrow at the robot in front of her, then.
"Excuse me...did this thing just call me 'Mermaid girl'? I'll have you know I'm called Mermista AKA Sea-ra, defender of the seas," Mermista said.
"Yada yada yada," Metal said, "We all need to be quiet because I think that Silver might be nearby."
