Happy thanksgiving!

Christmas Eve!

Not only was this one of my favorite days of the year, but it was also the day we were finally going to be let out of this prison of a safe house.

Shelby was joining my family for the remainder of the holidays, after compelling her parents to go back home and not ask questions in order to keep them safe. I knew she missed them, but she knew it was for the best. She was already much too involved as it is we couldn't risk anyone else involved.

I was able to sever whatever link the hallow had to nick. Granted I did this by snapping his neck in his sleep without his knowledge, but I did it. I also put up a block so that could reconnect with him. I feel like the hallow could have possibly had something to do with his turning. However, asking someone how that turned is never something to be asked lightly and without proper caution.

I grabbed Klaus and sat him on my hip. He giggled as I bounced him and tickled his stomach. Stefan held Elijah behind me as we entered the manor. Henrik and Shelby trailed behind us with our bags. Elijah had taken a liking to Stefan oddly enough. I had to call aunt Freya just so that he could tell her that he hopes Santa gets him a leather jacket now. Oh and now he wants to be called Eli because it sounds tougher. This child becomes less and less like his namesake daily. Klaus however lives up to the name fully, always making a mess and throwing fits hoping to get his own way. He keeps life interesting.

We walked in and were bombarded with my family fawning all over us. We'd nearly been gone a week and they acted as we left for a century.

"Nikki! Look is mommies" Klaus yelled and clapped. He started wiggling from my grip to get down and run over to them. I set him down gently and he took off. Stefan went throw a similar process with Eli.

"Oh thank god! You guys are fine!" My mother let out a breath of relief speeding toward us and pulling us both into a bone-crushing hug.

"Jesus mom we're fine. Although you going to crack my spine if you squeeze any tighter." I yelled pulling myself from her hug.

She just laughed and hit my shoulder, "your father and uncles should be back soon there just fixing up some last-minute things for Christmas."

"Nikol, Henrik!" Aunt bekah yelled and hugged both of us. "Thank bloody hell you guys are back, maybe now my brother will be in a better mood." I laughed and hugged her again, that was when she whispered in my ear, "I see you brought you, beau, you had a good week yes?" She winked and I did my best to cover my blush with a laugh.

They all retreated into the living room and I turned to Stefan with a sad smile. "I'm guessing you're going to want to go home and see your family."

He nodded a little reluctantly and walked over to me wrapped his arms around me, "besides the whole hiding from the evil old sprit thing that's out to get you, I really enjoyed these past few days." I smiled a little, my face buried in his chest. "It was so mundane and simple. We didn't have to hide. It was nice while it lasted." I looked up at him and both our eyes shined with some bittersweet emotions. We both knew that we would have to hide forever, but in the meantime, it was for the best. "How about you go get changed and come stay a few hours at my place, see my family. Take a break from all this craziness before coming back."

I smiled, "I would love that, let me just get Aunt Bekah and my mom to cover for me." I gave him a quick peck on the lips and speed off.

"Nikki!" I could nearly turn my head in Jenny's direction before she runs into me, tackling me in a hug almost knocking me over.

"Hi Jenny," I laughed, "nice to see you too."

"Stefan?" A sigh of relief escaped Elena's mouth, "oh your okay. Thank god. She rushed over and hugged him bearly giving him a moment to react.

"Oh geez, mom! I'm fine, I told you I just had something I needed to take care of." He pulled away and smiled at her trying to calm her nerves.

Elena waved him off, "I know, I know." She turned to me and smiled, "And I'm glad that you brought a- Friend. Right, Friends" She smirked before rushing off into the kitchen yelling for Damon.

"A friend, right a friend." Stefan mocked and kissed my temple, smirking like an idiot.

I pushed him away and smiled, "shit up." I looked around the bend to see Jenny and her parents already occupied doing something else and pulled Stefan in for a short by passionate kiss. "I love you."

"I love you."
