12. Morning

Nikol's POV

I woke up in a haze, I'm head was throbbing slightly. I looked around and saw empty bottles all over the floor and my dress from last night. I panicked and sat up, realizing i was just in Stefan button up from last night and in his bed, I panicked more until I realized my underwear were still on. I sighed in relief and went to check my phone, it was about 10:30 in the morning. I looked over to the other side of the bed and Stefan wasn't there. I rubbed my eyes and the door opened, Stefan walked in, in just boxers and handed me a cup of coffee.

I took the cup from his hands, "thank you." I smiled and sipped it slowly and scratched my head. "Did we, um, I mean, we didn't," I trailed off.

Stefan chuckled, "No, we didn't." He put on a pair of sweat pants and handed me a pair of shorts, "here, when your ready you can come downstairs and meet my parents." My eyes widened, "They came back early from their trip, my sister wasn't feeling well."

I let out a deep breath, "ok, is your sister ok?"

He shook his head, "I'm sure shell be fine, my aunt's going to come back and check on her."

"Oh, your aunt a doctor?" I asked.

Stefan laughed, "no, my mom is. My aunt's a witch, she usually has more effective ways of helping though."

I nodded, "I could take a look at her if you want, I do know a thing or two about healing."

Stefan shrugged, "that sounds good, just puts some pants on." I laughed and nodded. I followed Stefan down the hall to a bright pink room. He knocked on the door and opened it slightly, a little girl was sitting on the bed coughing badly, she was slightly paler than she should be. "Hi Jenna, this is my friend Nikol, she going to take a look at you, ok?"

The small girl sat up and nodded. "Ok," she said weakly.

Stefan opened the door up and I walked over to the girl who I now know is named Jenna. "Hi Jenna, I'm Nikol." I gave her a small wave, she smiled slightly, but then went back to coughing. "When did the coughing start?"

"About an hour after we got to our camp site, it wasn't persistent at first, but it started getting worse." She coughed again, moaning slightly and rubbing her throat.

"You you mind if I look into your mind to see if, I can see anything that could help figure out what happened to you?" I ask sitting down on the bed next to her.

Jenna shook her head, "I don't mind."

"Ok, give your hands," I held her hands gently and began to see flashes of memories, birthday parties, family dinners, school, and then I saw a glimpse of the camping trip. I began to focused on that memory, honing in on saw the flashes of a fire, in it was some burning flowers, herbal flowers. I recognized it immediately, the fire that the camp site next to them had vervain in it. I gasped and pulled my self out.

"What? What did you see?" Stefan asked anxiously.

"Does your sister have the vamp like qualities as you?" I questioned quickly.

"Yeah, why?" Stefan asked standing up.

"Get me a bucket." I said, Stefan looked me dazed and confused, I rolled my eyes, "just do it, I'll explain later."

Stefan vamp sped away and came back with a bucket, he handed it to me, "now will you tell me why you needed this?"

"When she was camping, the people in the lot next to them were burning vervain in there fire, when she breathed the fumes in it began to poison her." I explained and grabbed the bucket, "Now all she has to do is get the toxins out of her system."
