It was cold. Was he dreaming? Probably. Tons was walking in a garden. He saw her standing by a telescope, staring at the sky. Aisti looked as beautiful as ever. She was wearing a long white gown. It seemed to stretch out behind her into a white river of satin and silk. Her hair was wavey instead of curly.
As he outstretched his hand to touch her, she turned. Her golden eyes were now a bright pale blue and ablaze. She smiled at him. A warm smile he had never seen before. "Aisti?" he asked, confused. Her smile had stopped him in his tracks.
"Hello Gabriel. I'm glad I get to speak to you. If only for a moment." Aisti said as she beckoned him to her.
"Gabriel? You never call me by that."
"Do you prefer Tons?"
"Yea. You always say it with this cute, pout. Only business related people and outsiders call me that. Legal name, but that hasn't been my name in years." He said as he walked up to her.
Something about her was more welcoming than it had ever been. He decided that since it was only a dream, he could try to get one. "Aisti.... Do you know how much you mean to me?"
"More than I will ever know."
Tons chuckled. No matter how emotionless she was, she always answered the same. This Aisti was so pleasant, so sweet. He placed his arms around her and pulled her into him. "Even if this is only a dream...."
As he went to kiss her, Aisti kissed him first. It was a shocking but very welcomed surprised. She was warm to the touch. He brought his hand up to her face to touch her. Even if it was a dream, he wanted to savor every last second.
Her hands played in his curly hair, twisting a lock of hair around her finger. He hugged her tighter. So tight he was sure he may have been hurting her. He then started to kiss her neck. What would it feel like, sound like being with her? To truly explore every inch of her body with his hands and lips. To kiss her all over. To drown in her. He longed for the moment she would be his.
Shortly after, they stopped. Tears were flowing down her face. His heart felt like it may explode in his chest. It was beating faster than he had ever felt his heart beat.
"Aisti... Angel... Did I do something wrong?" He asked, clutching his chest.
"She gently touched his face. She kissed him again and then began to walk away. He wanted to follow but was stopped by a sharp pain in his chest. The pain grew worse and worse. He crumbled to his feet.
As he was gasping for air, he looked up at Aisti. She had stopped walking away and turned her head slightly. Suddenly a blazing golden symbol appeared over her head. What looked like wings began to shot out of her back with sparks and lights. She then said something to him, but the pain was too great. He couldn't hear anything but the thumping beat of his heart. Then there was darkness. He fell for what seemed for ages. Till he heard his name being called.
Irene was violently shaking Tons, who then woke up in a cold sweat. He looked around the living room, confused. He was sure he was sitting when he nodded off. Yet, somehow, he had ended up on the floor. He pulled himself up and glanced around. Irene had tears in her eyes.
"What happened? How did I-"
"You were SCREAMING. In pain. Calling for Aisti...."
"What? Why would I be doing that?" He asked. He was even more confused. He then tried to remember his dream, but it did not come to him. All he could remember was the fact that Aistel was in it. At the thought of Aistel, he stumbled.
"Did Aisti call? I need to ask her something."
Irene signed. As always, Tons ignored her. He would always ignore her panic and think of Aisti. It hurt her. All she ever wanted was to be the one people look to when in a crisis. Yet every single person around her only looked to Aistel.
"What could you NEED to ask her right now! You just woke up from a nightmare. Your lucky I was here. What kind of dream could you have that scared you so much? It's only been half an hour since you sent me to lay down." Irene said, rubbing his shoulder.
Suddenly, the door swung open. Martin was standing there with grocery bags. He smiled sweetly at Ire and tried to wave at Tons. "Yo, Tons. I brought that food for you! Let's have a feast! Tons help me out, please." He said as he placed the bags on the floor in the kitchen. "Just put them away, babe. I'll get the rest from the car."
Tons hopped up and dusted himself off. He helped Irene up and motioned for her not to tell Martin.
As Tons ran out to help Martin, Irene's phone began to ring. Once she saw it was Aistel's number, she stared at it. She wasn't sure she wanted Tons talking to her. He was always weird when she left to go anywhere. Maybe it was because his deepest fear was her never coming back.
