Fisle and Sebastian pulled up to the Santurino Estate to check on the latter's father. Sebastian had driven the annoyed Fisle there all the way. It was almost as if Sebastian was Fisle's personal chauffeur.
"Don't you have your own damn car that you could drive? Why the hell did you ride in my backseat? I feel like the damn help." Grumbled an annoyed Sebastian.
"Due to your brother's... Let's call them outbursts... I've had to pull a lot of strings and turn in a few favors to keep Aistel here. It's the least you could do." Fisle said as he stared out of the car window.
Sebastian groaned and parked the car. As he was getting out, a young fae woman rushed to help open and close Fisle's door. "Lord Fisle. Lord Santurino would like a word. My lord, your father says to wait in the dining room." She said with a quick bow to Sebastian.
Sebastian threw his arms up and stomped off to the dining hall, much to the amusement of Fisle. "Would you happen to know why the Lord has called on me?" He asked the young woman.
"That I do not know, please follow closely and don't stare at the paintings." She said as she hurried to get back inside.
Fisle was amused by this. "Why must I not stare at paintings?" He asked.
"Because we don't know where the monster that hides in them is at the moment." She said with a straight face.
Fisle simply waved her forward to show him where to go.
After what seems like an hour of walking, Fisle and the young woman finally reached the lord's chambers. She bowed and closed the doors behind her, leaving a confused Fisle alone.
A door opened to the right of Fisle and out walked Lord Santurino. He looked like a much more mature and sickly version of Castien. "Lord Fisle, so glad you could finally make it. Excuse my cough. I can't do much about it at the moment. Death will try to take me soon, but I shall fight." Lord Santurino said in between coughs.
"I invited you into my chambers to thank you for what you did for my son. Castien is normally so level-headed so to hear him act like that. He is a good commander and treats them all very well. Sebastian, on the other hand, is my more out there, child. Rambunctious and full of guilt. Though he is a great warrior, Sebastian is leagues behind Castien." He said as he struggled to sit.
The sick Fae had the same long silver hair as Castien as well as the same piercing eyes. He looked very strict and had to use a walking stick to get around.
Fisle helped Lord Santurino to rest. "Lord Santurino, my father is praying for your health to return to you so you can lead the Faeland guard again. Father says you need to lead for atleast another two thousand years. 'Too young for that disease to claim him now.' Is what my father said. I agree. Castien still needs another couple hundred rules of growth, and I'm not sure when or if Sebastian will ever be fit as the Grand General." Fisle said as he sat in a chair in front of Lord Santurino.
The lord smiled at Fisle and passed him a piece of paper. "I hope that young gyfted unknown woman is ok for now. I was told that hopefully time away from her will help Castien. I'm sure he is torn about what happened. Castien is not one to allow his emotions to get the best of him. So I am completely unsure of what happened or how to handle it. I do think he is in the place to get the treatment he needs right now. I now he'll be fine. She will also be fine... correct?" The lord asked Fisle.
"Aistel is fine now. She is resting with her friends. I had to call in favors and other thing to have the granted visitor passes while they are here. They also are allowed to attend the gala with her. Not the meeting. I wish I was going to the meeting. I heard it is very important this year. Something is apparently happening in China, and that will be the main discussion for this meeting." Fisle said as he played with a cat that had jumped in his lap.
The lord struggled to stand up and Fisle helped him up. "Thank you, Lord Fisle. Now to my knuckle head youngest son. If you don't mind." The lord asked.
"Of course not. Lead the way." Fisle said with a smile.
After another long journey through the overly large Santurino Castle, Fisle and the Lord finally made it to the dining hall. Sebastian had fallen asleep waiting for his father and Lord Fisle. The lord sat in a huge throne-like chair at the end of the dinner table and banged on it using his cane.
"Wake up, my little one. Tell me all about the human mainland and the situation back at the hospital. Is the unknown Gyfted ok? I hard Castien had harmed her wrist. Also, how is your brother doing? Have you tended to him?" The Lord was bombarding a barely awake Sebastian with a lot of questions.
"Father, Aistel is fine. She healed in a matter of hours. Castien is doing better but is still feeling the effects of being under the control of the curse that was placed on Aistel. I am going to make sure that everything goes well for the rest of the trip. We scheduled her and her friends to leave the day after the meeting in the late evening." Sebastian told his father as he rubbed his aching neck.
Fisle turned to Sebastian and said. "Also, there is a sighting of a strange looking youngish man wandering. He is not on anyone's list. He is around six foot five inches and has a very slim build. Very pale, with straw-colored hair and pale blue eyes. I want him found and brought in. Call in your group to do it. I pray he doesn't show up at the damn Gala and try to get into the meeting."
"I'll call in Unbe. He can use his sight to look for anyone who matches that description. Lord Fisle, I will send someone to escort you back to Castle Faeland. I shall take my leave." Sebastian spoke formally for the first time. It may have been due to the fact his father gave him the instructions or the fact he felt the need to step up in his brother's absence. Whatever it was, Sebastian was ready to deal with what ever he was asked of.
