Obsession

Tons let out an exhausted sign. He had tried calling Aisti all day to find out if she had arrived safely. It wasn't unusual for her to not call him back, but he wasn't used to not even receiving a text from her. He stared at his computer.

He had been working on a project all day to take his mind off of what Irene had brought up earlier. The thought of her falling in love with someone else made Tons' stomach do backflips. Why am I freaking out about this? She just met that guy. There's no way she could fall for him so fast. No way.

"But non-humans have one of two reactions towards her." Said Martin from behind him.

Tons scratched his head and glared at Martin. Martin's gyfted was of the mind. He could hear other's thoughts and move things with his mind. He was smiling at Tons with sympathy. He knew how much Aistel meant to Tons and how it would be a devastating blow to him if she fell for someone else.

"How would you know? The so called second reaction only happened once, and it was bad." Tons said standing up. He walked over to his fridge and pulled out a sparkling water. He had a thing for soda, but not the sugar. His body went wild with too much sugar.

Martin shrugged. "That vamp was obsessed with Aisti. He followed her everywhere. Well, at least he TRIED to follow her everywhere. Didn't he end up destroying himself because of that?"

"Yup. He confused his love for her on a cloudy day, but the sun started to come out. He had attacked her the day before. It was scary. Most non-humans develop an extreme distrust for her. Sebastian seems to not mind her, but it looks like Castien has developed an interest in her." Tons said. He had a worried look on his face.

"You don't think he would try anything, do you? Like kiss-" Martin stopped himself from finishing the question. He didn't want to hurt Tons' feelings or drive him insane with thoughts of Aistel kissing another man.

"Kissing means nothing to her. I've kissed her."

Martin raised his eyebrows in shock. He had thought Tons never tried. To hear he had was shocking. "How did she take that?"

"She kicked me for ruining her lipstick. She didn't care about the kiss."

"Oh."

"Yea...."

The two of them stood awkwardly after that. Tons had always felt ashamed for forcing Aistel's first kiss. Not that she cared. They were at a friend's Sweet 16 and she was more upset at the fact Tons' kiss smudged her lipstick.

The front door creaked open. They both let out a sign of relief. Irene and Sebastian walked in holding fried chicken buckets from the corner store. When they walked in, Irene was blushing and Sebastian had his hand on her shoulder whispering something in her ear.

"AHEM!" Martin said loudly, which alerted Irene.

She smiled nervously at her boyfriend. She handed Sebastian the bucket and hugged Martin. "Hey darling. I didn't know you were coming over."

Martin's gaze left his girlfriend's eyes and met Sebastian's. "I can see that. Seems you two are getting friendly. Too friendly if you ask me."

Sebastian merely rolled his eyes and placed the food on the counter. "I brought my own food. Left it in my rental. I'll be going since I don't want someone to think I'm doing something I'm not. Plus my flight is in 4 hours." He said as he waved lazily and left.

Irene went to kiss Martin, only to be shoved away. "I'm leaving too."

"Martin, nothing is going on! Sebastian was just telling me about Castien and he told me an embarrassing story. He forgot humans don't over share like Fae do." She said as she tried to touch him, only for him to shrug her off.

Tons was chewing on a chicken leg and was watching the two argue like a curious cat. Since he could hide his presence, he decided that was best so they wouldn't drag him into their argument. He looked down at his phone and saw a text from Aistel. He had sent her a text asking her a ton of questions and yet she only replied 'I'm OK, flight was OK.' He smiled and put his phone away.

Irene let out a scream and stormed off from Martin, who also groaned. Martin left, slamming the front door, startling Tons. Irene then slammed the door to the bathroom and dropped her head into her lap to cry. Suddenly her phone went off. She grabbed it thinking it was Martin but saw it was Aistel. Oh fuck! I fucking knew that guy would do this. Aisti has to be careful. This isn't love. It is an obsession! Just like the last non-human who acted like this. Irene wasn't sure what to do.

Aistel was going to be trapped with Martin for several days with no way of Irene or Tons coming to her rescue. She didn't even want Tons to know. All Ire could hope for is Aisti to be smart and not allow herself to be roped into anything.
