The Day of the Gender Reveal

"She gave him your number ?" Kayla loudly whispered.
"Kay I am fucking livid. And she think she's about to come here and play big happy family with us ? No. You just wait until she gets here." I shifted in my seat and bit my lip as i looked back at my angered reflection.
"Now, now. Let me handle it." she placed her hands on my shoulders. "Wait- does Avery know?"

"Chileeee if Avery knew he'd tear the walls down at that jail and hunt Reese down." I looked up at my sister, she had a worried look on her face.

"You right. But Mom sent me up here to get you and come back down 20 minutes ago, so you ready ?" she started to head towards the door.

"Uhh , yeah. Just help me put on these damn shoes." I held the heels up and smiled.

"Wow, you are just stunning. Look how big you've gotten." I turned to see my Grandma Olivia with her arms outstretched. I hugged her and she pulled away before I could really embrace her, staring down at my belly. "You know I have to do a protection ritual later right?" she asked.

"Yes, grandma." I smiled at her and squeezed her hand one time before I noticed Kayla behind her motioning for me to come with her. "Uh- hold on Nana."

"Okay baby. You be careful with my grandbabies." I heard her say as I walked away with Kayla.

"They're here. And I kind of told Mom." Kayla glanced back at me. I began to speak but we were already on my front lawn , now I'm facing down with Wanda and Richard. My mother stood behind my father , ready to attack. Dad stood between them with his hands out.

"Kelly. Why didn't you tell me this crazy woman gave  that criminal your number ?!" my mother looked between Wanda and I.

"Mom, I've got this." I stepped in front of my parents then looked between Wanda and Richard.

"You can't be here. I don't give a damn if Reese is your son, he tried to rape me. He broke into my house and endangered not only my life, but my babies." My face was contorted in anger. If I wasn't pregnant? It would've been Smackdown in this bitch.

"Kellandra, I'm so sorr-"

"Wanda, no! Go home, or I promise you that you'll need a motherfucking stretcher." I spoke lowly, but stern enough for her to back away slowly.

"Now now there ain't no need for tha-" Richard stepped forward and I felt my father grab my arm as he stepped forward too but I stood my ground. Avery flanked my left side.

"Oh you stepping forward now? Now you feel the need to say something? Let me tell you something, your ass should've spoke when your son broke into my house and tried to rape me. So what you stepping up for? Cause you ain't finna do shit. You a pussy just like yo bitch ass son. Now get the fuck off my lawn before I have everybody in this bitch drag you off of it." I stepped forward and looked Richard dead in his eyes. He stared coldly, but I ain't give a fuck.

He turned and directed Wanda towards their car. She was frozen in place, hugging herself and staring into the distance as tears came down her face.

I turned to see my siblings and parents staring at me, lost for words. But the face that stood out to me the most. Avery watched them, then cut his eyes at me.

"I'm hungry." I said simply, then walked back towards the party.

"Okay everyone, gather around." I ate potato salad quietly as I stood in front of the huge black box with white and silver streamers on it . Avery came to my side and grabbed my hand, he squeezed it and smiled at me reassuringly. I smiled back.

"Ready?" he asked.
"Mhmm" I said with a mouthful.

"Kellandra how you gonna open the box with that plate in your hand?" my Uncle Tyler asked .

I laughed slightly as I held my hand up to my mouth , Kadeem took the plate and stepped out of the way.

Avery grabbed one flap and I grabbed the other.

"1...2... 3!!" everyone shouted .

Two blue and pink balloons flew out with about 10 other white ones , and my relatives popped streamers as they shouted and laughed .

Avery picked me up and spun me around , then kissed me as confetti fell around us. He put me down and hugged me tightly.

"I knew it!" Kayla grabbed my hands and hopped up and down excitedly.

I was still in awe; I'm having twins. Regardless of everything happening with Reese bitch ass , nothing could ruin this for me.

Or at least I thought.
