Chapter 18: Implementing My Plan

Unknown POV…

I've been watching Emily for the past three days learning about her hobbies and what places she likes to go when she has Reese's kids. From my research, I've learned that every Saturday she takes Alexia and Asher to Sunshine Valley Park then to Marley's Double Scoop Ice Cream Cafe.

Today Chase and I went to Sunshine Valley Park but unbeknownst to him, we were following Avery's best friend Emily, and the twins. I figured the most efficient way to put my plan into kidnapping Reese's kids was for me to get close to Emily. Reese would be too distracted with keeping Chase away from his wife to even notice that a much deadlier threat was hanging around his kids. I stopped by my best friend Jordan Fisher's house and picked up his two-year-old son Parker. I felt bad for using his son as part of my scheme but not bad enough to discard my idea. Chase grabbed Parker's baby bag while I buckled him in his car seat in the back seat of my car.

"Why are we at the park? Chase asked while spreading a blue blanket on the ground like a sissy. Didn't he know that grown-ass men don't go around doing shit like that? 

"Because I promised Parker that I would bring him here today and this was the only place that you and I put our differences aside when we were younger," I responded. Taking a hold of Parker's tiny hand I shook my head at Chase lying on top of the blanket like only a female would do. With his little action, one could easily tell who was the real man and who was the feminine little boy between the two of us.

"Aah, now I understand." He replies with a smile on his face then says, "I remember that was the only time dad was too busy gawking at other women to even try to pit us against each other!

"I thought that I was the only one who noticed that," I replied as I watched Emily walk with the twins towards the swings.

"I only noticed it when I turned ten and after that, I couldn't wait until he planned our next outing to the park. I hear him say. "I see that someone has caught your attention," Chase adds, coming to stand beside me.

"Isn't she beautiful? I asked him trying not to seem suspicious in front of him.

"I guess you could say that if she was my type of woman." Chase tells me then says "I've never known you to be into women with kids bro with his nose turned up.

"I'm not but there's something special about her though! I mutter.

"You don't even know her name for you to even come to that conclusion." Chase retorted back to me with a snicker.

"Well, I'm going to fix that right now! I spoke, snatching his blanket up off the ground, and began walking towards Emily with Parker propped on my right side. Emily was now sitting on a blanket in between Asher and Alexia tickling them both. 

After spreading the blanket on the ground a few inches away from her I plopped down on it while Parker struggled to get free from my clutches.

"They sure can be a handful! She states looking over at me while Asher and Alexia ran around her in a circle.

"Tell me about it," I responded, turning to face her. 

"Hi, my name is Emily! She introduces herself.

I had to think of a name quickly because I hadn't thought of this part of my plan. "It's nice to meet you, Emily. My name is RJ. 

"You have such a handsome little boy." She says standing to her feet to trail behind Asher and his sister over to the slide.

"Why thank you," I uttered while carrying Parker over to the slides behind her.

"You two munchkins wait for me! Emily yells out to the twins as they get closer to the slide.

"So, bro how are you and the mystery lady getting along? Chase asked after he caught up with me.

"Pretty good so far," I mutter.

"Well, that's great. Maybe you and she can go on a double date with Avery and I." Chase then says, sounding very confident in his effort to get Avery to go on a date with him.

"It's too soon for me to be asking her out, especially when you haven't seen this Avery chick since she left you in Negril, Jamaica! You don't even know whether she's married or at the very least have a man.

"I'm her man! My crazy-ass brother blurts out.

"Alright, Mr. Delusional I want you to go find you something to do while I work my magic," I reply.

"Maybe I can help you out a little," Chase says as he was about to walk past me.

"No, you stay here! I commanded. "I don't want you to mess up the plan that I've worked so hard to put into action,"  I growled.

"Alright damn, bro I don't want your woman! My brother says then turns and walks in the opposite direction.

"Hey, are you okay? Emily asks.

"Yeah, I'm fine. It's just my annoying little brother is working on my nerves," I answer, giving her a fake smile.

"Cutie Is your daddy stopping you from getting on the slides? Emily coo's at Parker while taking him out of my arms. "What's your name handsome? She then asked while pinching his chubby cheeks playfully.

"His name is Parker," I respond.

"Ash and Lexi come meet your new friend Parker," Emily calls out to the rambunctious twins.

"Alexia paid me no mind but Asher just stood where he was staring at me as if he knew something was up.

"Come here, buddy." She calls out again. It takes Ash a while to warm up to someone new." Emily explains while walking over to the end of the slide where he was with Parker still in her arm. 

Scooping Alexia up in my arms I followed right behind her. The closer I get to him the more he starts to back away. The moment I got within mere inches of him he began to wail loudly which caused his sister to try to get down out of my arm.

"What's the matter, Ash? Emily asked with concern. Alexia went straight to her brother and hugged him as soon as her feet touched the ground. "Maybe we can try this another time," she says after placing Parker back into my arms. "Call me when you want to set up a playdate for little Parker! She tells me after writing her name and number on a piece of paper that she had gotten out of the twin's bag. 

I watched as she packed up their things and placed the twins inside the double stroller. With the diaper bag hung across her shoulder and her hands gripping the stroller she looked over her shoulder and said, "we'll be looking forward to hanging out with you and Parker very soon," then began to walk away.

"Well, it looks like you scared her off on your own," Chase retorts with a loud laugh.

"Shut up Chase and let's go! I roared and walked to my car placing Parker into his car seat.

"You're lousy at getting women and from what I remember you always have been big brother." Chase asserts after placing the blanket in the backseat then getting into the front.

"Didn't I tell you to shut the hell up? I mutter giving him a death stare before pulling out of the parking lot.

"If looks could kill I think that I would be a dead man right about now from the look in your eyes." I hear him say just what I plan to do to him when my plan to ruin Reese's life is finally finished. I drove home thinking about how our father would react when he finds out his favorite son has been murdered.
