"Alice, my love!" Set went into a rage, incinerating the bug-soldiers in a whirlwind of lightning. His lavender eyes glowed stronger as he advanced on Apep. He'd rather die now than suffer centuries more without her.
Anubis joined his father in his fight, notching arrow after arrow. Sekhmet and the others burst through the door but dropped their weapons at the sight of their fallen friend. Sekhmet fell to her knees and wailed loudly. Bastet, who arrived with several other gods, cried out as well.
Alice herself was cradled in her new brother's arms. His tears fell to her face, his eyes widened all of a sudden and he gasped. He placed his hands on either side of her face and leaned down, touching his forehead to hers.
"Take my power, take it all. Just please wake up." He willed his power to flow into her. Willed her to wake up. Willed her to continue breathing. Like the rising tide, his power washed over her and faded into her skin.
I felt warm and yet cold at the same time. I opened my eyes feeling a hit to my chest. "Wake up, Alice. Damn it, wake up. I beg of you!" Ausir was pounding my chest.
"I won't if you keep hitting me like that, thanks." He sat back quickly, his crimson eyes looking over my face. When his crimson met my blue he smiled and pulled me back into a crushing hug. I sat up and turned to the sounds of fighting. Set was fighting Apep, angrily.
I huffed and pulled myself to my feet. I was startled though, my skin wasn't the pale white I was used to, it was ashen grey. My hair fell forward, it too was a different color, silver not blonde. I looked up to Ausir and he smiled and nodded. I was a pure goddess now. Large silvery white wings flared from my back, like those of a snowy owl.
"Alice!" I turned to see the hopeful faces of my friends. I nodded to them before scooping up Nebula and taking off towards Set and Apep.
"Apep get the fuck away from my fiance!" I growled, my new wings flared, sparking in Set's lightning. Apep snarled angrily, but Set gasped shocked to see me alive and complete.
"Your love for him is far too strong. It might drown in it one day." Apep hissed.
"Oh shut you, snake bastard. You wouldn't know love, since no one would love a fucking asshole like you." I snarled back at him.
"Fuck I love you, Alice!" Set smiled. Apep hissed and attacked I flicked my fan up and summoned a blade of ice that shot up and cut off his arm. Before my attacks simply bounced off his scales, now they were finally doing damage. Black blood fell to the ground and he screamed like a stuck pig. He struck out with his tail and I flicked Nebula again calling forth a blade of wind cutting it off.
A look of pure hatred flashed over his features and he attacked, flinging a single scale towards me. It hit hard and knocked Nebula out of my hand. I looked up at him with a sass filled look. I rolled my eyes and held up my hands, palm up and fingers flared. He struck out again with his other clawed hand, I shrugged and touched him. Ausir's rot made his arm bubble and boil like it was burning, before slushing away.
He screamed more and more, anger flaring in his features. He roared and spikes grew covering his whole body. I only sighed and walked over to him. Drawing the ancient blade I had gotten from Gamil so long ago. I had sharpened it with a whetstone I had borrowed from Sekhmet. I had hidden it under the fabric between my legs.
"To be truthful. I feel bad for you, however, you tried to kill me, my fiance, and controlled my brother for centuries. Therefore you must come to an end. I'm sorry." His eyes widened but snarled again.
"Don't feel sorry for me. I don't need your fucking pity." He hissed. I placed my hand on his face and saw his memories. Memories of sadness, loneliness, and pain. I knew what I had to do. I stepped closer to him forcing him to step back. Step by step, I pinned him next to a wall. I lifted my blade and brought it down.
He flinched, prepared for his end, but he gasped when he opened his eyes. Instead of killing him, I stabbed the blade into the wall next to his head. I placed my hands on him and took a deep breath, focusing. I felt like I was on fire. I healed him but also stole his power. Draining every last drop of his power from him. It hurt, really hurt, but it had to be done.
The more I drained from him the more I felt tired, and the more human he appeared. Soon his face was completely human, normal green eyes instead of glowing cat-like. He was a bald man, and still not very attractive, but who knows.
"Now you'll have a chance to find someone. Everyone deserves to be loved. It's harder to live with guilt than to die a coward. Now you must live, for you owe me your life." He fell to his knees, his eyes filling with tears.
"What is this feeling?" He screamed.
"I guess you'll have to figure it out." I smiled, before collapsing.
