The next morning I woke up again in Heru's bed. It was strange to think about it. I could choose who remembered and who forgot, right? Wouldn't it be better if they all forgot? I don't want to change the future at all. The future is already set in stone. The reason I chose this period of time is that I don't remember it at all. This is right before Sasekhmet and I became really close. I also remember Ita wishing her hair was golden. I have a feeling you went back in time at this point. Time travel is a loop.
That makes sense I guess. Today is the day I call Re and order him to take me to Djehuty. Did you have a way to call him to you? Yes. How? Yell for him. I rolled my eyes, not realizing that Sasekhmet stalked in.
"Good morning. Did you sleep well?" He startled me since he walked in so quietly.
"Oh, Sas, yes I did. You kinda scared me there." I smiled getting off the hard bed. A maid came in and dressed me in a similar dress as yesterday. She gave me a strange look when I asked her for no jewels. I didn't need heavy jewelry to hinder me as I had no idea what to expect from the god of knowledge. The young maiden bowed low and left. Sas stayed, of course, to protect me. His eyes, as observant as an eagle's, shifted to me as I walked to the bedroom's balcony.
"Is something wrong, my King?" He moved to stand at my side.
"No. I have to do something today, and you cannot come. Just don't be jealous." I smiled at him, and he cocked his head to the side. I ignored his questioning gaze and instead shouted at the sky. The sun bird is never too far. Just call him. So I did, calling out Re's name. Soon a little peregrine falcon landed on the stone railing. His eyes looking at me in the quick movements of a bird. The bird blinked and changed in a quick flash of light. The golden man I had gotten to know now sat in front of me, his eyes narrowed.
"Who the hell are you to call me?" His voice was the same, not surprising. The only real difference was the clothes he wore.
"You came didn't you Re?" I closed my eyes focusing on the image of the sun. Once my eyes began to burn I opened them, glaring at Re's surprised face. "I need your help and you are going to help me," I spoke evenly, cooly, as if I wasn't myself. Set stiffened at the sight of his fellow god. Although I knew Re wouldn't be able to tell.
The sun god sighed. "Who are you? How do you have my mark of blessing and what do you want from me?" He was suspicious but knew the mark.
"Long story short, I am the reincarnation of Heru. I'm from the future. You of the future gave me this mark to convince you of the past to help. I need you to take me to Djehuty. He has some information I need. You are going to take me to him. Understand?" I smiled knowing I had backed the bird into a corner. He sighed again, defeated.
"Fine, I'll take you. Just one thing first. What's something I would tell myself. I just want to be sure." I sighed and said the passcode which Re had given me. "Golden falcon golden wings." He sighed again, before scooping me up into his arms.
"I hope you know what you're doing." He spread his massive golden wings and jumped off the railing. "You didn't scream? I was hoping to scare you a little." He cursed.
"After being tortured by Nephthys and Osiris, there's not much that scares me anymore." His solar eyes flashed to mine, which had faded back to blue.
"You were tortured by those two? Why?" The two of us flew past the pyramids which were still covered in their pure gleaming white coating. I smiled at the beautiful sight.
"That's what I'm hoping to find out from Djehuty. If those two want me dead, I'd like to know why. I also need to get some advice from him about Ist. She's been missing for centuries." He glanced back at me wanting more info, before looking back at the sky.
