The days leading up to our wedding were filled with happiness and laughter. Sekhmet and Sobek helped get decorations for both halves of the ceremony. Sekhmet and Bastet were also in charge of my dress for the second half, which they said they would make by hand. Anubis and Re were in charge of the outfits for Set and his groomsmen which they also said would be made by hand.

The two of us practiced for our first dance. It started off with a tango and a fun one at that. We were dipping and spinning with extremely sharp movements. The tango would fade and would shift to a slower love song. They were from one of our favorite movies. The second half of the dance was a slower ballroom dance with flowing lilting strides.

Our dance instructor was strict but good. He was surprised at our choice of the first song since it was about a prostitute, but we told him to watch the movie. The next day he came in with a pleasing look and understanding. He still thought we should play the wordless version though and we told him that we were already planning on it. We laughed at his defeated look.

I had heard stories of grooms getting cold feet due to the pressure of planning the wedding. Set however loved the planning. He was the one who did most of the buying and decorating. He seemed to love planning it as much as I did. I even asked if he was ok with all the pressure and simply replied with the same question.

He was surprised at the guest list especially at the sight of James' name. He didn't really invite anyone. The few people he wanted there mostly belonged to the Egyptologist team and the other gods. Isis, Nephthys, and Thoth were all on the list because of him. I had invited all four of my sibling and the two halves of my family. My aunts, uncles, and grandparents filled out the list.

Set and I rode on our mounts across the rolling hills of our land. He and I bought a pair of horses that couldn't be more different from each other. I had found a huge black Belgian draft at a horse auction a while back. Belgians were my favorite kind followed closely by the Friesian, which I also found at an auction. They were known for being gentle giants, and Sleipnir definitely was. He nuzzled me often and loved getting brushed and petted. It probably didn't help that I could talk to him like I could with other animals.

Set's Pegasus, on the other hand, was a tiny white Arabian who was an amazing jumper, hence the name. She was a spitfire who would run away from anyone other than Set.  How he had tamed the little brat, was completely unknown. We had bought a few others, a pair of thoroughbreds and mates for both Pegasus and Sleipnir.

A beautiful stagecoach was custom made for Sleipnir and his girlfriend Hulda. Its wheels were painted gold while the main coach was navy blue. We decided to rent it out to different festivals and events. Another two carts were specifically made for the renaissance festival, one made to carry royalty while the other was for the poor.

I had been training Hulda and Sleipnir to pull them in perfect sync for our wedding as we would be dropped off individually from the royal renaissance coach. Today, however, Sleipnir had a break, simply carrying me. He seemed to enjoy the break as well as he liked to run on his own, leaving Set and his smaller horse behind. He and I would rush up or down a hill and poor Pegasus would have to sprint to keep up.

"Have I told you that I love this place?" I asked Set when he finally caught up to us.

"Yes, you have." He chuckled. "I love it too." We stopped our horses at the top of a hill which overlooked the property. It had very few trees but enough to make a nice backdrop. He and I would come here often for picnics and whatnot. "I think we should have the ceremony here on this hill. We could have the carriage stop at the foot of the hill." He suggested.
