"-ake up, wa... come on, Kid... wake up." Y/n's eyes slowly opened as a dark figure stood above them, shaking them to consciousness gently. They stirred, confused, not knowing where they were, until they remembered what had happened the night before. Their eyes adjusted to the light shining into the living room from the kitchen, and they recognized the face of their grumpy, unkempt teacher looming over them.

Upon seeing Y/n was finally awake, Aizawa leaned back to a standing position. Y/n instantly noticed the wave of smells from the kitchen hitting their nose as the sound of sizzling filled the apartment. Hizashi must have been making breakfast; something with eggs, by the smell of it. Aizawa waited a moment for Y/n to come to a bit more before he started talking.

"Alright, I've texted Nezu and he's forcing me to take the day off."

"What?"

"I wasn't finished." Y/n shrunk a bit from their teacher's response. "Nezu, Zashi, and I agreed that we'll house you for a few days, maybe a week, if you're okay with it. He insisted you take today off, if not longer, for mental health reasons. Yes, I notified him of last night, but I promise it was just him and only for legal reasons. We want to help you, okay?" His voice went soft at the end as he squatted down, matching his height with Y/n who still sat on the couch wrapped in a warm blanket. They nodded slightly.

"For today... we'll start with breakfast. Afterwards, would you like to stay here and relax or would you rather go out and take your mind off everything?" His monotone voice rang in Y/n's ears as Aizawa stood back up, hands on his hips.

"Um... could we go somewhere? If it's not a bother-"

"Kid, I wouldn't offer it if we couldn't do it. Now, we could go to the zoo, the movies, the park, the mall, what do you want to do? If you're staying here a few days, you'll probably need some more clothes, so the mall might be your best option. We could stop for lunch there, too," he offered. Y/n was astonished to see their teacher in such a fatherly light, he was surprisingly domestic outside of hero work.

Hizashi butted in from the kitchen, yelling slightly but not activating his quirk, "For the next few days, think of us as your illegitimate fathers!" He grinned widely as he dished the omurice out of the frying pan and onto three separate plates.

Aizawa's face went ever so slightly red at his husband's comment. "I guess that's one way to put it," he grumbled, eyes shifting to the side. Y/n savored the moment of feeling like a family as a smile crept onto their face as well, not nearly matching that of Present Mic's, but still shining like the sun.

"The mall is okay..."

"Okay, mall it is. We'll start getting ready after breakfast." Aizawa headed into the dining room, followed by his loud, blond lover who was balancing three plates of hefty omurice portions.

It was midmorning by the time the trio arrived at the mall. They stared at the directory, not knowing where to start. "We should start with some clothes for the next few days, what kind of style do you like?" Aizawa spoke without moving his eyes away from the map in front of them.

"Don't worry about money, by the way," Present Mic placed a hand on Y/n's shoulder, "Sho and I earn enough from our jobs combined, and we don't have any kids of our own, so let us spoil you! Get whatever makes your heart happy, little listener." Y/n couldn't help but smile, things were looking up for once, and they had two supportive figures now. They couldn't have felt happier and safer.

After they had done their shopping and eaten lunch, the group, who many would see as a small family, began their trip home. Aizawa sulked in the passenger seat of his husband's car, knowing once he got home it would be his duty to discuss thing's with his c̶h̶i̶l̶d̶ student.

He stepped into the doorway with a heavy heart, watching as Y/n and Hizashi, unknowing of what was to come, talked gleefully about a new band rising in the ranks. He smiled softly to himself, indulgently imagining the scenario before him as permanent, and genuinely falling in love with the idea of having a kid of his own. He eyes widened as realization hit and he dragged Hizashi into their room, telling Y/n to sit on the couch and wait for him to come back out to talk.

Y/n waited and waited, surprised to find a few texts from classmates wondering where they had been all day. They cut the tags off of their new clothes and wrote down the homework assignments from Iida's text message, all while anxiously waiting and petting Aizawa's friendly feline.

After a few minutes, Aizawa strolled out of the hallway leading to his room, Hizashi in tow, before he sat on the couch next to Y/n. His husband went to bake some cookies as the other two talked, allowing him to be within earshot to not-so-discretely eavesdrop.

"So... you know we can't just avoid the topic. We have to talk about last night at some point." Aizawa braced himself for tears as Y/n shrunk against the back of the couch slightly.

"Okay..."

"Obviously, things aren't going so great for you. My recommendation would be therapy, or the school counselor is always an option too. Hizashi and I, and the other teachers and your classmates will be with you every step of the way, no matter what you do. Remember that. We're here for you, especially myself and that cockatoo." Aizawa danced around the topic at hand. "But whatever happened last night... that wasn't the right choice. If I hadn't been there to stop you, and you didn't show up at school today, and then we found out why-" he began to choke on his words before taking a deep breath, "Y/n, I would never admit this to anyone, but I was scared. I don't know how I'd live with myself if I lost one of my students," he gulped, pushing his emotions down as he always did, but nonetheless opening his arms for a hug, which Y/n hurriedly accepted, sinking into his warmth.

"I-I'm sorry, Mr. Aizawa..." The two sat together, taking in each other's warmth and craving a family for a moment before the mess of a teacher spoke up again.

"I know I'm your teacher and all but... what you said about your family concerns me. You shouldn't have to go back to that. We can figure out the legal stuff and your belongings and whatnot later, but if you'd like... Hizashi and I would be more than happy to take you in," he paused, waiting for a reaction.

Y/n only buried their head further into the crook of his neck, nodding as best they could into his capture weapon as tears flowed freely, streaking down their face. The tears fell just like the chains of their previous life experience, clattering to the ground and breaking open to set them free.

No words needed to be spoken. Hizashi had abandoned his half-baked cookies and joined the pair on the couch, wrapping his long, skinny arms around them into a forced group hug. Y/n sniffled, knowing everything really would change for the better now.

They were finally free.
