The season has changed... it is now summer. The heat is already here.
I hate it.
I sit outside on the porch because the house is way too hot. The lights of the park are the only thing lighting my neighborhood. I'm wearing shorts and a T-shirt to cool down faster, no one can really see me after all.
I look at my left hand out of curiosity, it is a new habit I have ever since I got my first eczema patch ever.
The two patches in the middle of my fingers are still there...
I unconsciously brush my right hand over my leg to make the itching cease.
Hold on.
Maybe I'm just being dramatic...
I move my leg up so the light lets me see. I look to my leg trying to find any 'dry spot.' My eyes widen as I find a little spot on my shin.
I don't freak out, nor cry like I would have done a couple of months ago. I sigh heavily before I lean on the stairs.
I close my eyes. A memory comes to my mind... I don't stop it as I think about my new patch. This was when I learned I had eczema...
I sat looking down to hide my tears as I was not able to stop them.
"Hey, stop crying. It's not worth it," a sweet female voice with a Spanish accent said softly.
I looked up with my eyes widened. A girl maybe a year older than me with long hair just like me stood in front of me. Her skin was sun-kissed, making her look stunning. She was wearing a hoodie and shorts.
She looked at the bandages on my right hand. I had them because unconsciously, I scratched my eczema until it bled.
I felt insecure as she looked at it... I didn't feel confident at all with my eczema that had started out of a sudden.
She sat down next to me softly taking my bandages off. She was not a nurse... she was just another patient but she was so calm... it didn't make me want to go away from her.
She took some creams out of her fanny pack that was hanging on one of her shoulders.
"It'll burn," she warned me before she put the cream on my hand.
I hissed as she started to spread it all over my hand. "W-what is that?"
