I was a complete nervous wreck. I couldn't breathe properly no matter how many deep breaths I took to 'calm myself.'
I gritted my teeth as I looked at the time.
Fifteen minutes early.
I take a deep breath. "Okay..." I say to myself. "She will be here any minute now..."
Today is October 19th... Yun's birthday.
Her parents took her to Oregon City to celebrate in the morning... I used that time to prepare my surprise for her.
I know she doesn't like to be gifted expensive things like some girls... she gets embarrassed by it. I did buy her something though... but I gotta be smooth with it when I give it to her.
Yun is a humble person, but still, prepare something for her was not easy... I just hope she likes it.
"Koo!" A cheerful voice calls.
My heart skips a couple of beats. I blush even though she's behind me...
STOP BEING SHY JEON JUNGKOOK!
I turn around holding a single rose in my hand.
"H-hello there c-cutie," I try to sound flirty but my stuttering ruined it.
Or that's what I thought...
I smile victoriously as I see her face redden.
"Hi..." she says looking down shyly, smiling like a fool.
Shy Love.
I walk closer to her. "Happy birthday, vampy. How does it feel to be seventeen?" I ask while handing her the flower.
She shyly accepts it. "I don't know..." she babbles. Smiling, she looks into my eyes. "You tell me."
I laugh. "I turned seventeen a month ago. This is not fair." I ruffle her long hair.
I take a moment to look at her.
She's wearing a soft pink dress that hugs all her little curves perfectly; a denim jacket and sneakers to be more comfortable.
Yep... she looks just like the Yun I know.
I smile like a fool as I notice her wearing the promise ring I gave her...
"What did your parents give you?" I ask as I pull her into my house.
She giggles. "I got the cutest baby Yoda plushie ever..."
I pout. "I hope I remain to be the one getting all your cuddles."
Standing on her tiptoes, she cups my face. "Nothing will change." She pecks my lips softly.
I take her hand. I start to lead her inside the kitchen.
I follow the plan I created.
I have been working since last summer. My uncle has a farm that he wants to sell...
We made a deal...
Once in the kitchen, I open a cabinet. I take some seeds out.
Yun looks at me curiously. I don't show them to her on purpose. I turn to look at her grinning. "Let's go."
She giggles as she follows me out of the house. "Where are we going?"
I chuckle. "Surprise."
As always, I open the door of my car for her. She kisses my cheek as she gets in the car.
I excitedly run to the other side, ready to drive. The farm is not so far away... just a little bit closer to the city.
I see Yun looking out the window curiously as she tries to figure out where we are going.
After half an hour, she finally gets to know.
A farm.
As we get out of the car, I take her hand. She giggles as she follows me without saying anything.
We walk to the middle of the farm, where a big part of the dirt looks different... it has been prepared for something.
I take a bucket of water before we arrive at the point. I smile as Yun looks at all my movements.
I take the bag with the seeds out of my pocket. I finally show them to her. "Do you know what am I about to plant?"
She blinks multiple times. "A tree?"
I laugh. "Yeah, but what type of three though?"
She shrugs. "Appletree," she babbles.
"Wrong!" I say happily as I was not predictable. "I'm about to plant a sequoia tree," I said smiling like a fool.
Her eyes widen. "A s-sequoia tree?!"
I nod smiling. "Giant Sequoias are the trees that live the longest and are the tallest." I take her hands in mine. "I want this tree to symbolize our love."
Her face becomes red. "W-what?"
My eyes get teary out of a sudden, hers do as well. "I want to watch this tree grow as we grow older together... that is my biggest dream. And even after we die, the tree will still be here, being a living memory of our love for the next couple of thousands of years."
She giggles as she wipes a tear running down her cheek. "I love that idea."
Together, we plant the seeds for the tree... our tree.

A month later, Yun and I come back to the farm to check on our tree.
She runs excitedly. I laugh as I try to catch up with her. She might be short but she got long legs.
We both stopped in front of the place where we planted the sequoia.
There it is... a baby tree.
We kneel in front of it to appreciate it. Yun carefully touches one of its leaves.
I smile like a fool as I take a photo of her. She laughs once she notices.
"It is doing good," I comment smiling.
"It will grow big and healthy," Yun says dreamily.
I kiss her forehead. "It will."
