Fireflies (Owl City)

6 years later...

Virgil walked into his school playing "Fireflies" by Owl City making everyone quiet down and listen to the teen play his music. Thomas joined up with him along with Thomas Sanders, Patton Summers, and their friend since middle school, Logan Williams.

"You would not believe your eyes
If ten million fireflies
Lit up the world as I fell asleep"

Virgil and Thomas smiled at one another. They won every talent show and opened their love for music at every Show and Tell in Elementary school.

"'Cause they fill the open air
And leave teardrops everywhere
You'd think me rude but I would just stand and stare

I'd like to make myself believe that planet earth turns slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep
'Cause everything is never as it seems"

Patton smiles as he sings with Virgil and Thomas. Thomas gave Patton a hug. The group weren't afraid to be gay in the open and weren't afraid to show everyone to show their Gayness to anyone.

"A foxtrot above my head
A sock hop beneath my bed
A disco ball is just hanging by a thread (thread, thread)

I'd like to make myself believe that planet earth turns slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep
'Cause everything is never as it seems (when I fall asleep)"

Logan played a few tech music to go along with Virgil's guitar that he had ever since he was 8 years old. Virgil smiled at Logan, whom smiled right back at Virgil.

"Leave my door open just a crack
Please take me away from here
'Cause I feel like such an insomniac
Please take me away from here
Why do I tire of counting sheep
Please take me away from here
When I'm far too tired to fall asleep

To ten million fireflies
I'm weird cause I hate goodbyes
I got misty eyes as they said farewell (said farewell)

But I'll know where several are
If my dreams get real bizarre
'Cause I saved a few and I keep them in a jar (jar, jar)"

Virgil stopped so everyone could sing along with him and his group called the "Gay Pride Musicians." Almost everyone in town loves them and goes to their concerts that they host in the park.

"I'd like to make myself believe that planet earth turns slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep
'Cause everything is never as it seems (when I fall asleep)

I'd like to make myself believe that planet earth turns slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep
'Cause everything is never as it seems (when I fall asleep)

(I'd like to make myself believe that planet earth turns slowly)
(It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep)
(Because my dreams are bursting at the seams)"

Virgil smiled as he finished the song. He remembered how proud his dad would be of him for coming out and making his band become sensational in their small town. "Another great performance, Boys." Ms. Yvette Ayala, the principle praised, "You four get better by the minute."

"Thanks, Ms. A." Virgil said slightly anxious. "Virgil, don't let your anxiety get the better of you. You're allowed to call me Miss Evie or Evie because I am 24 years old and am running the school very young." Evie said.

"Thanks, Ms. A, but I think I'll call you: Ms. E." Virgil said. "You remind me of an old student I taught a few years ago." Evie said, "Roman Prince Sanders, Thomas' cousin." "Oh, Roman? He ran away at 15 years old. He's still missing to this day." Thomas said.

"I didn't know you had a cousin, Thomas." Patton said. "Neither did I." Virgil and Logan said in union. "He's been in Arizona for years, Guys, and his parents didn't like him here in Florida." Thomas said. "Well, summers almost here, Boys, what's your plan?" Ms. E asked them. "We don't know yet." Virgil said,  "We'll probably hang out at my Abuelita's house and play more music."

"Well, a friend of mine is hosting a competition here in Florida and all bands are allowed to enter." Ms. E said handing them a flyer, "I think Gay Pride Musicians has a high chance of winning."

Thomas, Patton, and Logan looked at Virgil to hear what he says about the competition. Virgil looked at them and smiled at them. He looked at the flyer and the back at the school's principle.

"We'll do it!" Virgil said.
