"hey, you okay?" JJ asked me from across the table.

"huh?" I lifted my head to look at her.

"what's up?" she wondered, frowning a little.

"oh, it's nothing" I shook my head.

"are you sure? do you want me to call you later? So we can talk?" she so kindly suggested.

"oh you're so sweet. Its okay, honestly" I nodded.

"okay, give me your number" she demanded.

"what?" I stared at her.

"give me your number, so that I can text you to make sure you're okay and you can call me whenever you want" she smiled.

"you're so kind. Thank you" I nodded, whipping out my phone to recite my number to her.

"ill text you later, is that okay?" she tilted her head slightly.

"that's completely fine, thank you" I chuckled lightly.

Lucy and Will came back in shortly after and the conversation continued.

I tried as hard as I could to speak and join the conversation but.. I mean, I was distracted.

I heard classical music.

Assumed it was playing in the restaurant.

Only for it not to be playing in the restaurant.

And for a completely different song to be playing.

And for my girlfriend to be sat right next to me.

And that obviously means that she wasn't listening to the classical music.

so I was hearing someone else listening to classical music.

someone who isn't my girlfriend.

and the person, that someone else listening to classical music is..

not my girlfriend.

but..

my s..

maybe they had two different songs playing in the restaurant.

maybe it was just playing in my head.

maybe I'm just sleep deprived.

I must be, I mean Lucy is my Soulmate.

I knew it from the moment I met her.

It's her.

The night ended and apart from like the last 40 minutes, I had a really, really good night.

I 100% wanted to hang out with JJ again.

She's just the sweetest.

And then Lucy drove me home and walked me to my apartment.

"are you okay? You've kind of been out of it for the last hour" She asked as we stopped in front fo my door.

"oh yeah. I'm okay" I nodded. "I'm just super tired"

"mind if I come in?" she grinned, tucking a piece of my hair behind my ear.

Oh god.

"I love you but I'm really tired. I just want to go to bed" I frowned.

"oh" she looks sad.

Shit.

"I'm sorry" I shook my head.

"I know, it's okay. You're tired, I'll see you later" she nodded.

"I had a really nice night. Thank you for inviting JJ and Will" I smiled.

"we can do it again soon" she stated.

"I'd like that" I chuckled.

I smiled at the beautiful girl in front of me and paused before leaning in and pressing my lips against hers.

"I'll text you in the morning, okay?" I wondered.

"of course. Goodnight, y/n" she nodded.

"night, baby" I turned and opened my front door.

I turned to look at Lucy once more but she was already down the hall.

I nodded softly and entered my apartment, locking the door behind me.

A few minutes later, I heard my phone buzz in my pocket. I took it out to see a number I didn't recognise, I assumed it was JJ's and answered it.

"hey" I mumbled.

"it's JJ. Are you okay?" she asked through the phone.

"yeah" I nodded.

"I know we only just met but I feel a good friendship forming. So talk to me, y/n" she sighed.

"I'm just really tired, JJ" I nodded. "I.. I have to go, thank you for calling me. Goodnight"

Before she could reply, I hung up.

JJ's POV

"Morning guys and gals" I chirped, making my way into the BAU.

"morning" Emily sent me a smile.

"morning, beaut" Derek replied as Garcia and Spencer sent me a wave.

"how was you guys' weekends?" I sat down on an empty part of Emily's desk.

"I did nothing and it was beautiful" Garcia grinned.

"me and you both, gorgeous" Emily nodded. "how about you, pretty boy?"

"he probably just sat, read and listened to 17th century Mozart" Derek snickered.

"you're not wrong, I did do that but actually Mozart composed music in the 18th Century, also known as the Classical period. It was actually composers like Bach, Purcell and Vivaldi that created classical pieces in the 17th century, which was known as the Baroque period" he nodded, leant back in his chair.

"and thank you, Doctor Reid for our classical music fact of the day" I chuckled lightly to myself.

"any more apartment parties?" Derek wondered.

"I heard a couple songs in the late evening but luckily there was no party last night so I could actually get some sleep" he replied.

"awh I'm glad to hear that, good doctor" Garcia grinned as I felt my phone buzz in my pocket.

Y/N: can we meet for coffee?

JJ: yeah sure, where are you?

Y/N: outside the BAU

JJ: okay, stay there I'll meet you now x

"hey guys, I gotta go. I'll be back in a little bit" I mumbled before grabbing my bag and rushing out of the room to meet Y/N outside of the building.

"hey" I exited the building to see her stood, leaning against the cold wall of the BAU.

"there's a coffee shop across the street, let's go" she grabbed my hand and carefully led me across the street into the coffee shop I surprisingly hadn't noticed before.

We headed inside and took a seat in one of the booths in the near end of the shop and ordered our coffees.

"so is everything okay?" I asked, staring at the sad girl who sat across from me.

"I just.. I've been thinking all night and I just need to need to talk, y'know?" she responded.

"I know" I nodded. "you can tell me anything"
