As expected, Cheska and Leo were extremely surprised to hear that I am dating Elli. I spent my last night in Batanes telling Cheska about him, the kisses, the confessions, and about how much I like my best friend. Well, it wasn't just Cheska and Leo, because Charry, Elisse, and Ivan joined our conversation last night. They are all surprised, excited, and happy for us.
Batanes really became our healing place because they redeemed Charry and Ivan's relationship and friendship. Matthew and Elisse unexpectedly became into each other since our truth or dare game the other night. We celebrated Cheska and Leo's anniversary at naging kami ni Elli. But to be honest, I can't help but think of Chad.
I hold on to my necklace that Chad gave me on my birthday, thinking about him and about us. I can clearly remember what he told me that night.
"I really like you. But I'd rather just be friends with you than totally lose you," He said that with a smile on his face but the sadness in his eyes was so obvious. He hugged me tight as if he really meant what he said. I never thought that Chad could be a terrible liar. He has been a great friend to me and I can't help but be hurt knowing that I've hurt him.
"Okay ka lang ba? Is there something that bothers you?" Elli asked.
"Chad," Tanging sagot ko.
"Just give him a call. Tinawagan ko siya pero hindi siya sumagot pero baka pag ikaw, sagutin niya,"
"I just hope that he is okay," I said, worried.
"He will be okay. Si Chad pa ba?" Tanong ni Elli kaya naman napangiti ako.
"Stop worrying," He said as he holds my hand for assurance.
"What the fuck am I seriously watching right now?" Tanong ni Ivan kaya naman natawa ang lahat.
"I can't believe how they look at each other. It was intense and full of affection. Damn, this is fucking unbelievable" Dagdag ni Leo.
"I see hearts everywhere," Sabi naman ni Cheska.
"My ship is sailing," Charry said with a huge smile on her face.
One major thing that annoys me about dating Elli is the squad's childish jokes. I wish I could just slam their heads on the coffee table or bald them skinhead.
Five hours ago, we were just having a great time taking photos and enjoying Batanes. Ang bilis ng oras at andito na agad kami sa Manila, sitting at a famous coffee shop while waiting for our order.
"Kaya pala nakita kong umiiyak si Chad nung isang gabi. Nabasted pala," Sabi ni Ivan kaya naman nasiko siya ni Charry.
"That was supposed to be a joke guys," Sabi ni Ivan nang mapansing niyang natahimik ang lahat.
"It's not funny," I said.
"You shouldn't crack jokes about a broken heart," Napalingon kaming lahat nang marinig ang pamilyar na boses na 'yun at nagulat kaming lahat nang makita si Chad na naglalakad papalapit sa table namin.
"I am sincerely happy for Iya and Elli," He said as he sits beside Matthew.
"To be Iya's friend is better than being nothing at all. Alam ko naman sa una pa lang na hindi ako ang gusto,"
