Don't ask but I practically spent the entire night tortured by Iya. Hindi ko mabilang kung ilang malulutong na mura ang natanggap ko sa kanya kagabi dahil pinaghintay ko siya. Lalo na nang malaman niya na si Kelly ang kasama ko, ayun, nasuntok pa 'ko. And the next morning, here we are at the cafeteria in school with our friends, Cheska, Leo, and Ivan having lunch.
"Oo nga pala Elli. Ibang klase ka ah." Sabi ni Ivan kaya naman napatingin kaming lahat sa kanya.
"What?" I asked him.
"Kelly posted a photo of you both on Instagram last night. Grabe, napasagot mo na ba ang hottest girl at school?" Ivan asked and the rest teased me right after. Pero nagulat kami nang biglang nag dabog si Iya, slamming her hand against the table.
"Mention that name again and I'll strangle you till you run out of breath." Iya said so we immediately shut our mouths. Leo kicked me under the table mouthing the words, 'Anong nangyare?' but I just told him to shut up.
"And hold up, the hottest girl at school? Raise your fucking standards. Cheska is even prettier than her." She said.
Halos isang taon ko nang nililigawan si Kelly at halos isang taon na ring pikon na pikon si Iya sa kanya for some reason I don't know why. Maybe it's because she's protective of me or baka may something kay Kelly na ayaw niya lang talaga. I don't know. She never tells me why anyway.
"Iya?" Tawag ko sa kanya pero 'di niya ko pinansin.
"May laro tayo maya ah. Libre ko remember?" I asked but I just got ignored big time.
She's fucking mad at me. Kagabi niya pa sinusumbat sakin na pinaghintay ko raw siya for 43 minutes and 37 fucking seconds. I mean, who counts that? I sighed. I really promise na from this day on, I will never make her wait again for even more than a minute, ever. After lunch, I bought Iya's favorite chocolate bars and sneaked them inside her bag when we parted ways dahil hindi kami classmates sa ibang subjects at tyaka pag binigay ko in person baka masungalngal niya pa pabalik sakin 'yung mga chocolate bars. Mas okay na 'yong sigurado.
As usual, it was another boring day in class. I listened to lectures, got to do tons of activities, and presented reports. It was 6 PM when the last class dismissed at agad akong dumiretso sa klase ni Iya para abangan siya.
"Elli?" Someone called me so I had to look around to see who it was.
"Kelly!" I called her, obviously excited.
"Sinong hinihintay mo?"
"I'm waiting for Iya. You know her, right?" I asked.
"I'm not sure honestly." She said and giggled.
"It's okay. You can meet her next time. Anyway, I'm sorry about last night. Promise babawi ako sayo." Sabi ko kaya naman ngumiti siya.
"Sure, I'll look forward to that,"
"So paano mauna na 'ko ah? Ingat kayo sa lakad niyo ni Irene." Kelly said at sakto namang dumating si Iya.
"It's Iya." She said, correcting Kelly.
"Oh, sorry. Hi! Nice meeting you Iya." Kelly said, offering her hand for a shake. Tiningnan ko si Iya and knowing how much she hates my Kelly, mukhang malabong makipag shake hand siya.
