Ellias Joaquin Alfaro
I am currently having an intense and awkward conversation with Mr. Vincent Ricafort. I just feel highly intimidated to the point that I think I can't do this.
"I'm Ellias Joaquin Alfaro. I represent the Alfaro group of companies." I introduced myself.
"Oh, yes. The young entrepreneur," Mr. Vincent said. I offered my hand and he chuckled to see how much I was trembling. He shook my hand and smiled, "It's nice to see you grow into such a fine man, Joaquin. Your father took care of you well."
"Did you just say Alfaro group of companies?" A woman asked, butting in the conversation. And I noticed how she wrapped her arm around Mr. Vincent's waist.
She must be the wife.
"Yes. I represent the Alfaro group of companies, ma'am. I am the son of Erikson Alfaro."
"Your girlfriend is really beautiful, creative, and lovely. I like her. Ang swerte mo sa kanya." She said which had me confused.
My girlfriend? Did she meet Kelly? But that's just impossible. Tyaka hindi ko pa girlfriend si Kelly so what is she talking about?
"Po?" I asked, obviously confused.
"Your date, Iya Nadine," Sabi niya na ikinagulat ko naman.
"You met her girlfriend?" Mr. Ricafort asked.
"Yes, love. And she helped me a while ago." Sabi naman ni Ms. Ricafort. She then leaned in closer to her husband and whispered something kaya naman bigla nila akong tinitigan which made me kinda uncomfortable.
"Mr. Alfaro," Mr. Ricafort called.
"Yes sir?"
"I would like to invite your father to the office to talk about partnership and investments. What do you say?" Sabi niya kaya naman nagulat ako.
"Wow! Thank you, sir, really. I really do appreciate the opportunity. Maraming Salamat po!" I said in the most exciting tone and then offered him my calling card.
"I'll expect him next week." He said and tapped my shoulder before walking away.
Wow. That was freaking unbelievable. I can't believe I'd get the deal without doing much.
"Mr. Alfaro," Ms. Ricafort called kaya naman napalingon ako sa kanya.
"I just want you to know that you got the deal because of your girlfriend, Iya Nadine. But since you're an Alfaro I expect that you would do an admirable job for us. I've always been a fan of your Dad." She said and I can't help but smile back.
"I promise, I won't let you down. Maraming salamat po ulit for the opportunity." I said, and then she tapped me on the shoulder too before she walked away.
And that's it. That explains the hug that I just gave Iya. I just feel undeniably thankful for her. Una, pumayag siya na maging date ko at eto pa, she's the reason why I got the deal. She is my lucky charm. Tama si Ms. Ricafort. Ang swerte ko sa kanya.
"Ano bang nangyare?" Iya asked the moment I moved away from the hug.
"I got the deal." Sabi ko, dahilan para mapangiti siya.
