Like the title says this book is basically essays about some thoughts and there's also some fun weird stuff to kinda lighten it all up

One thing that I never really found hurtful until now is the term "half-breed" and "white washed". Both of those terms were often said about me because of my mixed ethnicity and my lack of knowledge about both cultures.
It really hurts when I make a comment like "Idk if you'll understand a lot of the quirks of the movie because you're not East Asian (not trying to be racist or anything)" and getting "well you're not exactly Asian since you're so whitewashed" as a reply, that really hurt especially because it was said by someone close to me.
Some of my family would even joke about me and my sister being "half-breeds" because 1. We don't really look Asian, and 2. Because we knew pretty much nothing about the cultures.
It's only now, years later, that we've actively tried to learn more about our different cultures and embrace both sides.
Being called "half-breeds" really affected both me and my older sister growing up since we were so different and we never really fit in. Especially in our community since our mum is the only Fillipino there so we always stuck out and back when there were "cliques" both me and my sister were kinda shunned out and the popular girls would be mean to us just because we didn't really fit in with their image and stuff.
I'm starting to lose my train of thought so bottom line: don't' call people half-breeds because it's not nice and it leads to them forming a deadly group of generals that are out to destroy the people who discriminated against them (yes that was a Voltron reference) and they'll also know how to curse you in different languages so yeah.

I don't really know where I was going with this, it was just something I was talking about earlier with my sister and I suddenly got really angry thinking about it while I was cooking so I kinda brain dumped this all. (Also since I'm a "Half-breed" I'm totally claiming Ezor because she's the scariest general and I love her)
