It's been a long day of painting, writing, and editing and you were in the mood to do something. After thinking and thinking about what you could do, play video games, work on your other paintings, reading that manga series you've been neglecting, nothing seemed to appeal to you. You finally settled for watching a movie.
You were browsing through your DVD collection, desperate for anything to entertain yourself in the sea of boredom. Nothing seemed to interest you until you came across a certain movie, 'your' favorite movie to watch together when you were dating, Chicken Run. You were pondering in your mind if you should wait for Keigo to get home to start watching the movie, feeling guilty for even considering watching it without him. But, you got over that feeling really quick after thinking about facing the boredom again and started the movie; plus, you didn't even know when he would be back home from patrol. Maybe you could get away with watching it without him knowing.
You were about 30 minutes into the movie, the chickens were doing those crazy exercises, learning how to fly. The red chicken was running up the ramp and was about to land flat on her butt when all of the sudden...
"BABY BIRD!" Keigo yelled from behind you, slapping the chair you were in. You screamed and fell to the floor. You gave him a pouty face, making your e/c eyes as big as possible and sticking your bottom lip out a bit, while rubbing your sore backside. "I can't believe you would watch 'our' movie, 'our movie', without me!" Keigo moaned in that cute way that always made you want to laugh, except for this time because you were still recovering from the scare.
"I'm sorry," you whined as you took his outstretched hand to stand up. "I was bored out of my mind and Chicken Run was the only movie that looked interesting," you pouted "Besides, I didn't even know when you would be home and thought that maybe I could finish it before you got back".
He then smiled and pulled you a quick bear hug before holding you by the shoulders and stated, "We are 'so' starting over!" He then flew into your room so that he could change out of his hero outfit and into more comfortable clothes. You sat on the couch, rewinding the movie, just before he rushed back into the living room and jumped onto the spot next to you. You then pulled the throw behind you over both of your' feet, making a bit of a blanket nest, while his ruby, red wings blanketed the two of you.
"Okay. Roll film!" Keigo dramatically pronounced. You let out a cute giggle as you pressed play and snuggled into his chest, his arms wrapped around your waist as you watched 'your' movie. Memories of when the two of you would watch Chicken Run while you were dating flooded your mind as you smiled and looked into Keigo's sweet face.
He caught you looking at him. He smirked and asked, "What is going on in that pretty little mind of your's baby bird?"
"Oh nothing," You hummed. "I was just thinking about when we were dating and how we would laugh at this movie." Keigo gave you a sweet smile and kissed you on the forehead, shifting one of his arms from your waist to your shoulder before returning to watching the cartoon.
It was now 45 minutes into the movie when the chickens started to dance. Keigo got a bright idea and hopped up from the couch.
"Keigo, what are you doing?" you cried, rubbing your arms from the sudden lack of heat.
"Dance with me mama!" Keigo hollered, hand extended, head rolled back.
"Keigo, you know how bad of a dancer I am," you laughed.
"C'mon, let's have some fun," he begged, grabbing your hand and pulling you up from the couch. Seeing no way out of this, you decided to join your crazy husband and danced along to the music.
"Flip, flop, fly, I don't care if I die! Flip, flop, fly, I don't care if I die!" Keigo sang along, spinning you around the room as you tried to keep your footing. Keigo then pulled you in for a dip, you nearly fell to the floor 'again' but Keigo's feather's caught you before you could hit the wood.
"Okay, I think that's enough crazy dancing for one night," you patted his chest, signaling that you were done.
"Whatever you want darlin'," Keigo drawled carrying you bridal style back to the couch, getting comfortable again. As the night wore on and you were dozing off in Keigo's warm embrace, the movie slowly turning into background noise in your tired brain.
"Y/n? Hey y/n! Wake up dove," Keigo cooed, nudging your sleeping form.
"Hmm, is the movie over?" you asked sleepily.
"Yeah, you fell asleep about 20 minutes ago," Keigo said.
"Why didn't you wake me up?"
"Well I would have, but you were just so cute while you were sleeping my little night owl," he smiled.
"I'm sorry I missed the end of the movie," you apologized.
"It's okay. You were tired and we can finish this tomorrow night together," Keigo said, turning off the tv.
"So, how was work?" you asked.
"It was long, crazy fans asking for my autograph, pictures, all that jazz. There were a couple of villains who tried to rob a convenience store, but they clearly were amateurs so it wasn't too dangerous. Overall, work was pretty boring. How 'bout you? How was your day?" he asked.
"I'm glad you're safe. Today was pretty good. My publisher sent my story back and told me that I needed to edit a couple of parts; that didn't take too long so I worked on some portraits for some 'wealthy' clients while listening to f/b (favorite band) for the rest of the day," you told your husband.
"You and your music," Keigo sighed.
"Hey, I was in a mood and I needed the appropriate music," I defended myself.
"Yeah, yeah. If it's not f/b then it's whatever kind of music you're in the mood for. That's one of the reasons why I found you so intriguing," Keigo smirked.
"Aww, you're sweet Keigo," you yawned.
Keigo stared at me with an adoring look in his golden eyes before he said, "Let's get to bed baby bird." Keigo lifted me up from the couch, walking us to our bedroom, then laying me down gently and joining me in the bed. "Good night my lovebird," Keigo yawned, playing with my h/c hair as we were falling asleep.
"Good night my love hawk," I mumbled before I finally submitted to the heaviness of my eyelids and fell asleep in Keigo's arms.
