Delilah's Pov

The next morning when I woke up everyone was gone, I guess Dad failed to mention they were leaving this morning. Either way, I'm free of them for the next few days. And if I'm lucky my plan would be completed by then.

Jumping out of bed I dress in yoga pants and a hoodie before racing downstairs and eating a banana. Looking around the house I see my first task; clean. The house was gross, I don't remember the last time it was cleaning day.

I walk around the house see what else needs to be done, I had a nice list on five things. Plugging phone into a speaker I play slow, sad music as I clean. I start with the living room where I vacuum, dust, steam the carpet, and rearrange.

I move into the kitchen next. I sweep, dust, polish, and totally clean out the fridge, freezer, and cabinets before rearranging them completely. I double check everything before I mop the floors.

While waiting for the floors to dry I do the laundry and vacuum the upstairs hall way and rooms. I was sweating by the time I finished, cleaning was really tiring. Now I know why everyone hates it.

But I wasn't done yet, I still had the three bathrooms, and five rooms. Since the bathrooms were the easiest I hit those first. Cleaning from top to bottom, nothing was left un-scrubbed. I couldn't help but feel a little proud.

I took a break from the cleaning and ate a small lunch before hitting the laundry again. Music still played when I was in my parents room, I cleaned their bathroom, dusted, and made their bed. I might have even arranged their colors by color, I think I spent a good two hours in there.

Jordan's room was by far the worst of the two boys, he had dirty clothes everywhere. Garage littered the stained carpet, magazines were thrown carelessly about, and layers of dust on his bookshelf.

In his room I took all the dirty clothes and put them in the wash, arranged his magazines in alphabetical order, dusted, steamed the carpet, made his bed, and fixed his mess of a closet and dresser.

His room defiantly took the longest.

Somewhere in between Jordan and Lucas's rooms I took a bathroom break and went back to the laundry. My muscles screamed for a break, and my head pounded. I knew I should take a break but I couldn't stop now.

I pushed myself to clean Lucas's room, at least his wasn't as bad as Jordan's. Cleaning his room was probably the easiest room I've done all day. All I had to do was dust, make his bed, and rearrange some clothes.

When I was with everything I collapsed in my room. I didn't bother to eat dinner, I kept myself holed up in my room with my lap top and guitar. With one part of my master plan done I could sleep peacefully tonight.

Hopefully.

Cole's POV

The whole day all I could think of was how Kristen treated Delilah at school, she had no right. But who am I to talk? I've known about them bullying her for years and I've done nothing to spot it, I'm just as much the problem as they are.

Sweet Delilah didn't deserve all the words they spit at her. She didn't deserve to cry herself to sleep at night. And she definitely didn't deserve to be shouted at by the people who should love and cherish her.

She is beautiful, one of a kind. And it kills me that she doesn't see that. She doesn't see the eyes that follow her down the hall, she doesn't see all the guys checking her from head to toe.

And she probably never will.

I can remember yesterday, when I was with her brothers. We were downstairs when a melodic voice floated down the stairs, accompanied by the sound of a guitar. We had paused our video game to listen.

Hey there, Delilah
What's it like in New York City?
I'm a thousand miles away
But,girl, tonight you look so pretty
Yes you do
Times Square can't shine as bright as you
I swear, it's true

Her voice caused a shiver to roll down my spine and goosebumps to raise on my arms. Her voice was so soft yet strong, and she hit the notes just right. I could tell her brothers were mesmerized by her voice, I'm sure anyone that heard her voice would be.

As she carried on with the song I couldn't help but fall in love with her voice. She was such a talented singer, I wonder why she doesn't take music in school? She has to be the best unprofessional singer I've ever heard.

When the song came to and end the house went silent for a moment before her brothers shook their heads, as if to shake her voice from their memories.

"You guys ready?" Jordan asks, clearing his throat to ease the tension in the room.

"Uh sure" I cough, picks up my controller.

We slowly slipped back in routine, but I could still hear her voice bouncing around in my head. What I would give to see her sitting there, strumming that guitar and singing. I bet she was as mesmerizing as she sounded.

"Cole, you okay man?" Lucas asks quietly.

"Yeah man, just need a smoke" I say, voicing the need for relief. Lucas nods and pauses the game.

"Let's get some food" he suggests, Jordan and him disappear into the kitchen and I go outback and lit one up.

I take a deep drag and hold in before breathing out, I watch the smoke get blown away by the wind. The warm, familiar buzz of nicotine slowly took over my body. The more I smoked the more the feeling grew.

I smoke for a few more minutes before I put out the cigarette and popping in a piece of gum and going inside. The two brothers were in the kitchen eating pizza rolls and drinking Mtn. Dew.

"It's getting late, I'll see you guys later" I say, stealing a glance at the clock on the stove.

"Alright man, I'll see you later" Jordan says, Lucas just waves as his mouth was full of food. I wave back before leaving out the front door to my bike, she gleamed in the moonlight.

Straddling my bike I look up at the window in Delilah's room, the light was on.
