Delilah's POV
My eyes were closed but I could hear everything, and what I heard was something I didn't like. Blake and Cole were shouting at each other, and the words they spoke broke me.
"Is she going to be okay?" I hear Cole ask softly, somewhere in the room Blake sits down and doesn't answer.
"What the fuck man! What have I ever done to you?" Cole seethes from beside me, his grip on my hand tightened to a painful one.
"I know what you've been doing" I hear Blake sneer, my curiosity sparks and I find myself listening more intently.
"What are you talking about?" Cole says beside me, for some reason relief floods through me. Something didn't feel right- yes- it wasn't relief, it was dread.
"You sleeping around behind her back!" Blake monotones, my heart drops to my chest. My hand twitches with the need to hit someone.
Cole wouldn't cheat on me would he?
He loves me
I think to myself, trying to convince myself it wasn't true.
But why would Blake lie?
My mind whispers crushing any hope I had left.
"Why did you do it?" Blake growls at Cole. He was only met with silence.
"You're a coward Cole! You can't even tell your GIRLFRIEND that you've been seeing someone else behind her back! She loves you, all she talks about is you! The only person she thinks about is you!" Blake shouts at Cole.
Silence once again.
"And this is how you repay her?" Blake chuckles bitterly, I hear the faint sound someone standing up.
"By fucking cheating on her!" Blake screams again.
"I'm sorry" Cole says sincerely, I feel a hot tear roll down my cheek as he admits to cheating on me. Footsteps head towards the door and I hear the door open, Blake was leaving me.
"Don't tell that to me tell that to her" Blake spits before storming out of the room with the slam of a door.
"Open your eyes Ace" Cole sighs, I slowly open my eyes and let them adjust to the bright hospital lights. I keep my eyes in the ceiling, refusing to look at him.
"Ace I'm so sorry, I never meant for this to happen" Cole apologizes beside me. More tears trail down my cheeks.
"H-how long?" I croak, my mind racing with possibilities.
"The last few months" he sighs, just the my heart shatters into a million shards.
"S-so all those times you cancelled our dates. Missed my graduation! You were with her?!" I say coldly, his grip on my hand is released.
He doesn't answer, but his silence was more than enough.
"All those times we said 'I love you' was it fake?" I croak out, I need answers, and I need them now.
"No! They were all real, I meant everything I said to you!" Cole says passionately beside me. I internally scoff and sit up, and I elevate my bed so I can rest my back on it.
I cast my eyes towards my hands, a silver glint catches my eyes.
