You yawn as your eyes flick open to the sound of your beeping alarm. You stretch and hop out of bed as you feel your feet hit your fuzzy carpet. 'First day'- you thought excitedly. You reach your hands up and stretch, feeling your muscles start to shake.
You've been dreaming of this moment ever since you were a little girl. Nervous goosebumps spread on your arms, and you rub your hands up and down them trying to relive it. You walked over to your closet and grabbed your new U.A uniform. The light gray jacket was neatly decorated with navy blue stripes and a red tie.
You pulled it over your head with some difficulty and slipped on your navy blue skirt along with it. You looked in the mirror and smirked. Your uniform made you look so good, way better than Shiketsu's uniform which was a bit baggy because they mixed up sizes so you were stuck with a (B/S) when you normally wear (Y/S).
You stood there, admiring yourself for a few seconds longer, before pulling your knee high socks on and slipping on your shoes. You headed down stairs after brushing your hair and throwing it into a side braid which you have done ever since middle school. You grabbed an apple and your bags and met your calm, but stressed eyed mother in the car.
"Are you nervous y/n?" she asked, pulling out of the driveway in a rush.
"Of course I am mom," you say with a nervous smile. "What if I don't make a good impression? I mean I am coming in half-way through the year. Everyone already knows each other and the teachers have probably been watching everyone's quirks and how to utilize them."
Your mom had a smug expression on her face as you babbled about how nervous you were. She didn't say much, only small remarks about how you had friends at Shiketsu and how well the teachers knew you there. After awhile of this one-sided conversation, your mom pulled up to the dorm section of the school. Your eyes almost popped out your head in awe.
"Grab your things y/n you know I have to be at a job meeting here in an hour," your mom sighed out pinching the bridge of her nose. She grabbed her cup of coffee from the cup-holder and took a long drink.
"Oh, right," you said, still smiling ear to ear. You jumped out of the car and popped the back trunk. You slung your three brightly colored bags over your shoulder and rolled your suitcase on the pavement beneath you. You double checked your bags and prepared yourself once more.
"Bye mom! I will come visit you on the weekends when I don't have hero training," you said, looking at her through the drivers side window.
"Remember what I said y/n," your mother said with a lase of harshness on her voice. "Focus on your studies, nothing else. You are not here to socialize."
You nodded fearfully but refused to show it on your face.
"Got it," you huffed. Your mom then sped off and you released a breath that you always seemed to hold whenever talking to your mother. You turned and stared at the building in front of you.
Your teachers told you on registration day that you could settle into your dorm on the first day, then attend classes the next. That way it would give you time to adjust to everything and to meet everyone when they get home from their training.
You step inside as the smell of fall candles fill your nose. There was a large open room with tan wooden floors, and in the right hand corner of the room there was a couch section with a brown table in the middle. There was a TV across from that and potted plants decorated the entire place. Huge windows filled the walls and the back one contained a brown sliding door to the back patio. You couldn't help but feel so warm and happy; the feeling of home coursed through your veins already.
"Y/n?"
You turned around to see..nothing? 'Where did that voice come from, and who said my name?!'
"Down here darling," you heard someone say.
You tilted your head down and jumped a little when you saw a white stoat, not even 3 feet tall. He had a very prominent scar on his left eye and a white tail that swung behind him. He had on a tux with a red tie and brown boots along with a warm calming smile that matched his eyes.
"Oh my gosh," you said totally embarrassed. "I am so sorry I had no idea you were there."
'Great first impression y/n, you just looked right over the damn dude.'
"No need to worry y/n," he chuckled. "It happens more often than you think. I am the principle here at U.A. I came to greet you here before you went to your dorm because we did not get to meet at your registration. I apologize, I had a important meeting to attend." His tiny body bent over before you into a bow.
"Oh no!" you waved your arms back and forth nervously. "There is no need to apologize sir it's a pleasure to meet you."
"The same to you y/n." He smiled. "Now, what is your hero name again? That way I can greet you formally during your training," the principle asked, head tilted to one side like a puppy.
"Thunkissed," you said.
He nodded while still keeping the same welcoming smile on his face. He reached in his tiny pants pocket and pulled out a key bigger than his paws.
"Have fun, and thank you so much for coming to our school. I'm sure you will be a perfect addition that everyone will learn to love so quickly. Your quirk is amazing and the teachers here will push you to become exactly who you dream to be." While saying this, he reaches for your hand and places the key into your palm.
Your lips uncurve as a unfamiliar feeling of determination and fire come rushing back after losing it the at beginning of this year. You close your fist tightly around the key and look the principle in the eyes.
"I won't let you down sir."
