"Today is not going to be fun."
You try to pry your eyes open as you stare at your teachers figure in front of you. The morning light was definitely not helping your sleepy headache.
"Bakugo," Shota says abruptly, causing you to wake a bit. You glance up as Bakugo tilts his head to the side and then walks up to the front.
"Huh," he says, sounding completely uninterested and mostly tired.
"Throw this ball, like we did at the beginning of the school year," the teacher says back, tossing a ball and it landing in Bakugo's large palm.
"Alright," Bakugo says, his face never breaking. He steps out into the open area as you watch, excitedly. You didn't get to see the first time because you hadn't showed up to the school yet.
He swings his arm back and forth in hope to stretch it out, his jaw clenching from focus. You glance away from him before your body had a chance to produce a blush.
"Your previous record was 705.4 meters," says Shota. You gape.
'Huh?!?'
Although you never got to do the test, it still seemed like that was impossible? Was it?
"Let's see how much you've improved," he says, causing Bakugo to bend down and letting his face finally break into a huge smile.
It happens in a second, he leans back on his back foot before letting out a scream and launching the ball out into the sky. It travels so far, until you couldn't see it anymore. You watch, mesmerized.
"709.6 meters."
Bakugo's eyes fling open, standing up in pure shock. He clenched his fists so hard at his sides you were scared he was going to break skin.
"As you see," your teacher goes on, completely ignoring how upset Bakugo was. "Your quirks have not improved much."
"So, you will be pushing yourselves harder than you ever have before today, and you will feel like you are dying sometimes. But, it will only make you stronger."
Some kids around you looked scared, especially Mineta who was almost shaking in his clothes. You only listened, just figuring that Shota was being a little dramatic.. y'know to scare the class or something.
Boy, were you wrong.

You hold back the horrific pit urging its way up your throat as you try to stabilize your breathing. Your legs were shaking so bad you felt like you were about to drop on the spot.
Through your blurry vision and the pulse that was almost crawling out of your neck, you almost stopped. Until, you heard a loud desperate scream followed by an explosion, pushing you to go even farther.
