Your mind seemed to fuzz in and out a bit before the steady beat of your heart can be made out, ringing in the room.

Your throat was layered a thick sheet of saliva, almost like you hadn't swallowed for ages; your entire body felt numb and if felt like you were floating through thin air.

For a second, you thought that maybe everything that had happened was a dream, but when you moved your injured arm, you winced out mistakingly. Familiar pain comes back, and flashes of Bakugo run across your mind.

You cant help but to relax as your body releases tears. They were so hot that they warmed up your cold, bruised face. You didn't even put any effort into producing them, your agony and sadness completely filling your body.

"Miss y/n?" a soft, angelic voice comes from in front of you. It sounded far away, so you had to focus horribly to hear what the lady was saying.

"Oh my....See....Him....You....Right?"

You grit your teeth at the lack of communication you were able to do, but ultimately let out a sigh. You relax again, not even noticing that you had tensed your body up in the first place.

You were about to drift off, and forget about the useless words being thrown at you until..

"He's alive."

Your eyes shoot wide open, something you haven't done in awhile. All senses seem to flood back to you as the feeling of water over your head starts to disappear.

"He's-He's," you manage to croak out, your fists balled in hopes to strength yourself.

"Katsuki Bakugo miss," the sweet Nurse says with a smile. She walks over and places her hand over yours, making sure not to mess with any IVs.

She leans over and for the first time you can see her. Her bright eyes and pink cheeks. It was nothing like the bloody mess you were so used to staring back at.

"He's alive," she says, smiling so wide her eyes squint shut.

At that moment, you wanted to scream, dance, cry, sing, anything, and everything. But, all your managed to do was close your eyes tightly and take in a long breath. It was shakey and you couldn't help but to let out a small laugh. It ran through the room and bounced off the pale colored walls.

Your head pounded as you let out a smile, a real genuine smile.

At last your heart started to pick itself back up again.

He's alive.

It had been about a month and a half since that day in the hospital. Bakugo was still in a coma, but your healing process was coming along fairly quick.

School wasn't permitted for you until 3 more months, making the situation much more bearable. You weren't sure if you could even do 1+1 right now.

Your friends did visit you often, bringing you flowers and teddy bears. Kirishima and Denki sobbed into your arms when they first saw you again, grasping onto you for dear life.

The amount of times they apologized for not being there for you was astonishing. No matter how many times you told them it wasn't their  fault, you felt as if they would always hold some guilt for what had happened.

You smile weakly at a kid who was skipping through the hallway, her bright smile warming your heart. You made sure to roll your IV pole out of her way, making sure sure wouldn't trip on it.
