warning: this chapter contains blood and gory material. Also, I would like to say that the length of this chapter is intended:)
You dropped to your knees almost immediately.
Your mind was blurred and the only thing you could hear was the harsh ringing in your ears.
His blood was on your hands. Their blood was on your hands. You turn your head slightly at the view of Dabi's body. A pool of blood had now formed around his head, and his legs where intertwined with each other. You were numb, your mind trying to grasp what had happened.
"Y/n..." you hear Akuma suddenly say, her voice layered in amounts of worry.
You glance up and your heart dropped. You felt your world around you just.. crumble. You swore in that moment that everything was a dream.
Akuma had released Bakugo from his chains, and now he was laying on his back on the gray floor. His eyes were shut, his eyelashes clumped with dried blood from his busted head. His hands were blistered and bruised, and his left arm was swollen. Still, he looked so perfect.
But, his chest wasn't moving.
You crawl on your hands and knees slowly over to him. You were terrified of the one thing you refused to face. The one thing you never thought you would have had to face.
"Bak-" you try to say as your voice breaks, your body threatening tears.
You finally make it to his side and you relax, laying down next to him. You slowly grab his cold hand and close your eyes.
Your body releases a sob. Then another one. And before you knew it, your body was trashing from the force of your crying. You couldn't believe it.
He was just asleep.
"Please, tell me you love me," you're whisper out. You nudge your head into his neck, your heart shattering at the lack of warmth. It used to be so warm.
"Tell me you love me Bakugo," you say again, louder this time. "You said we would both get out of here, didn't you?"
Your body was as close as it could get now. Your tears wetting his blood stained neck. You tried to find some sort of sign that he was still in there, aching for some sort of heat. But everything was so cold.
So so cold.
"GOD DAMMIT, TELL ME YOU LOVE ME" you yell out, balling up your fists and softly pounding them on his chest. "Please..."
He doesn't react, and this time you scream out. So loud you could almost hear your voice breaking. Your head pulsed from the lack of blood you've lost, and the grief was overwhelming you. It hurt worse than the damages done to your body.
You hated yourself for those moments when you would push him off of you. The moments you rolled his eyes at his childish remarks. The moments you were upset, but didn't want to talk to him. The moments when he would cook you something and you never said thank you. The moments you would go to sleep instead of staying up a little bit longer just to talk to him. All the moments you took him for granted. The moments you could have said 'I love you.'
Right then and there, you would kill to see him smile.
Or to do anything.
Akuma runs to you as she tries to pick you up. You can't help but to wail and fling her arms off, your mind only repeating one thing.
Bakugo Bakugo Bakugo Bakugo.
"No.." you croak out as Akuma pulls you up into a sitting position. She grabs your shoulders before locking you into a hug.
"I'm so sorry. I'm so so so sorry," she says while now letting out her own tears.
"Please wake me up," you say barley above a whisper as everything starts crashing down on you.
You look back down at Bakugo who's head was now limped off to one side. It reminded you of the day you saw him in the classroom sleeping.
He looked so peaceful.
"I love you," you say, knowing he couldn't hear it.
And the world around you fades as you pass out.
