Chapter 14

Summer

I secretly walked into the Venus cabin (Aphrodite) all the girls were eating breakfast, I wiped the sweat from my brow and walked forward. Popped a white backpack on my shoulder, and started throwing all the things I could think of. When I was done, I walked out and into the Hades cabin. He was standing next to his bed putting stuff in his black backpack.

“Mister slow poke, I had to sneak in and got done faster than you.” I said knocking lightly on his open door.

He looked up surprised.

“Oh, its you.” He said and put the last thing in his backpack.

“That’s it? Just me?” I asked sarcastically.

He chuckled and threw his pack on his shoulder walking next to me as I left. We were almost at the gate, Piper and Annabeth approved of me going. So they can go to Greece, but they would haft to convince the Roman to come with them, glad I wasn’t going to be here when they tried. We almost reached the gate when I heard a voice behind me.

“Sneaking out? Running away isn’t going to solve your problems.” She said with and evil voice.

“Come on…” I complained silently.

I turned around, and sure enough, there was Reyna. But her hair was hidden in a hat, I almost laughed.

“Speaking of running away, hiding that horrible hair do wont get you anywhere.” I said smiling. I dropped my bag next to my feet and put my hands on my hips. Kids were starting to gather. I forgot, today was my birthday, I am now twelve. That gave me a wicked smile. She growled. 

“Ready for that re-match yet runt?” She asked.

I smiled. “Yep! The question is….” I looked up and down her body. “Are you even ready?” I said putting on a fake disgraceful look.

“I have always been ready!” she reached into her pocket and took out a knife that grew into a sword. I put my hand to my mouth and patted it as I yawned. I reached down my wrist to make sure my bracelet was still there. It was there, kids were surrounding us in a circle. I backed up a little to ask Chad something, Reyna gave a wicked smile, so I smiled back.

“What is Reyna scared of the most?” I whispered in Chad’s ear.

“Hm…. Oh yea, snakes! She is deathly afraid of snakes!” he whispered back.

“Perfect.” I said, and walked forward with no weapon.

“This will be easy defeating someone smaller by twice my size.” Reyna said.

“Well… this will be easy defeating someone who will soon be smaller by ten times my size.” I answered back.

Reyna looked confused, but shook it off and came running at me screaming. I jumped out of her path, opened my bracelet and thought of myself twice as size, but a horrible slithering creature.  I closed my eyes, the next thing I know I opened them and I was a huge slithering snake, my bracelet was now a golden chain around my neck. I hissed and Reyna’s eyes widened, she dropped her sword and went backing up and then ran towards the forest. I slithered towards her, she was now almost screaming. She tripped on a rock almost to the forest. I had this tastily attempt to eat her, but remembered this is just an act. I closed my eyes and re-opened them. I was back human with a golden dove necklace, not a bracelet. Wow, cool! I looked down and saw Reyna shivering with big eyes.
