ANNIE'S POV
I got up at sharp 7pm. As I was going to have a meeting with THE KNIGHT INDUSTRIES, I was too lazy to have a shower in the early hours of morning ,so I made myself a cup of coffee and then showered .I came out in a bathrobe thinking about the contract,I hope there are no such conditions on which I don’t agree. But knowing Rafael ,I can only hope for the best.After searching for some more formal clothes I wore a white shirt with grey pencil skirt.I made some scrambled eggs with toast and coffee for breakfast .It was 8:20 so I called bella because we need to go reach there at 9:00 as it’s a 30 minutes drive from our place.
“Hey, are you ready?” I asked her.
“for what?”
“Are you serious !!! We have a meeting to attend at 9:00 ,where the hell are you?”
“Oh shit!! Can you give me 5 minutes to ready.I’m so sorry.I seriously forgot about it”
“Hurry UP!!!”with that I cut the call. But what happened to her,she has never been late to any of her meeting . I hope everything is good. Then I started doing my makeup.I applied some lipgloss ,mascara and put my hair in a high ponytail. After giving mysef a last glance I made my way out with my car keys. After reaching in her driveway ,I have been sitting for 5 minutes but she is nowhere to be seen .i swear we are going to be late.after sometime she came and sat in my car.
“what happened to you?”
I asked her with my hands in the air
“Nothing”she replied and turned on the radio so that she doesn’t have to answer.And changed the topic. I didn’t push her anymore may be she is nervous about the meeting We reached there at 8:51. I thanked god for making us reach early. It was a tall glass building with
‘THE KNIGHT INDUSTRIES’ written in golden on top. After entering we were told to wait for Rafael in the conference room.I was surprised that he has not come yet. But again we came early.I’m sure that he is going to be shocked to see me on time because he knows that I’m very inpunctual about time .At sharp 9am ,he entered the conference room and as I said ,he was shocked to see me on time.I did a small victory dance in my head.but what made me suspicious was that bella and Rafael they were shocked to see each other.but Rafael quickly composed himself.Do they know each other? I thought.I quickly Introduce her as my lawyer.They both shaked their hands and we all took our seats. Her secretary gave me the contract papers and I quickly went throught it and passed it to bella.as she was reading I got a call from my mom. She always calls me at night because she knoes that I am busy with my meeting. I hope everything Is fine .with that thought I excused myself and made my way out of the conference room .
“Hey mom,is everything ok?”
“yeah its just that your dad is having a fever and cold ,so I was hoping you would come and visit us ‘’
“I'll’’ see mom”
“Ok ,drive safely.” After talking to her I entered the room. It was as if the atmosphere has changed. There was thick tension in the room. I gave them a confused glance and took my seat after sometime bella agreed with the conditions asking only for some more days to design the hotel and working from here instead of going to NewYork .But Rafael being Rafael did’t back down.I was just going to say something but I again got a call but this time it was my dad telling me to visit them as its been 4 years.so I started thinking about the contract . In that way I can stay with my parents and also do my job there.As I went in side I apologized for my behavior but Rafael started taunting me.i was hurted by his behavior because he never used to talk to me like this in the past .after apologizing once again I signed the contract.
“I won’t disappoint you raf!!!!Uh I mean Mr Knight”.
HE quirked his perfectly shaped eyebrow in surprise. I hurriedly made my way outside in embarrasement . After coming outside I took along deep breath and started walking towards the exit.
“why did you call him Raf?”
Bella questioned me but I don’t know what to answer because she doesn’t know about my past.
“I was just trying to be friendly because we will be working for a long time ,but after looking at his face I should just talk to him formally”.
“he doesn’t seem a good person, Annie stay away for him as much as you can”she exclaimed
“have ya’ll both met each other before?”
No,I-I n-o why are y-o-u askin-g?”she stammered
“you gyuz wear staring each other I thought you…….may be..b….by an…any chance know him.’’why am I stammering
“No ,it was nothing like that” she answered,I breath out in relief .
“Ok, so how was your night?”
I asked her. She started sweating profusely. I don’t know why but I think she is hiding something from me.
“wh-y are you asking ?”she again stammered
“because Luca was with you,did he take you to a beach or any place?” I jokingly said
“I broke up with him” she said and started crying
“why ,what happened love?”
“He cheated on me”.
She started sobbing hard. I don’t even know what to say because Luca was a nice person .i didn’t think he would to that.after sometime she calmed down and went home because she wanted to be alone. I bid her goodbye and went to my penthouse after stopping near starbucks to buy a cappuccino. I straight went to have a shower. After showering I wore shorts and black top. I took a nap . By the time it was 5:00 pm , I started answering my emails. While checking I see that I have a mail from Rafael’s secretary telling me that I have a flight to catch on 8:00 pm .I was beyond shocked. I don’t Know how I’m going to pack .I tried calling his secretary but she was not answering my calls . I hurriedly called Bella and asked her to help me in packing .After 2 hours ,we were finished with the packing .i only have one hour to go the airport. So I took a shower wore a black leggings and a white hoodie . I didn’t had time because I had to reach the airport in 30 minutes so I took my bag locked the door ,bid goodbye to bella and made my way towards the airport .while driving I got a call from Luca asking me to meet him . I told him that I’m going Newyork but he had something important to talk , so I asked him to meet me outside the private airport. Yes we are going by his private jet.
I reached 10 minutes early because there was no traffic and waited for Luca outside the airport.As he came I hugged him and kissed him on his cheek.
“hey,how are you?”I asked him.
“Not so good,by the way where are you going without telling me”
“ I’m going to NEWYORK for some office work”.
“So what happened between you and Bella ?”
“She misunderstood me ,she thought that I have been cheating on her with some other girl because she saw a picture of a girl and me kissing on my phone . I tried to explain her that it was before our relationship started but she didn’t listened to me and went to her home .I tried calling her but her phone was switched off . I don’t know what to do” he told sadly . I cupped his face and said “everything is gonna be fine”. He immediately hugged me and said “ I hope it does I don’t know how to explain it to her” I patted his back and broke the hug . We talked for some more time and then kissed me on my forehead and said me to take care . I bid him goodbye. As I turned I see a very angry Rafael standing there with his fist closed and his knuckles turning white.
