At Sorties Building
Melanie's POV

It's two in the morning. My heart was thumping rapidly. Constantly I was feeling the need to gulp down my anxiety. I was waiting for the right moment to leave the building as I waited on my bed. It was several minutes before I made the decision to leave my room.

I moved towards the hallway and proceeded cautiously all the way to the main door. I carefully unlocked the door and exited the premises, making sure to leave no trace.

As I reached the main road, I quickly took out my phone and located the restaurant. "Here.. it says the restaurant is 17 miles away. Now I just need a cab to get there". I mumbled as I scanned the area until I saw a cab. I sat in the cab and went away.

18 minutes later

After exactly eighteen minutes, I reached my destination. I hopped out of the cab and looked around with my hands still gripping the cab's door in case I change my mind. "Close the door ma'am, I've other places to be". The driver said and I Immediately closed the door. The cab drove away faster and I started exploring the place.

The roads were pitch-black and vacant at  2:28 am. I became even more anxious when I glanced at the building that resembled the haunted palaces often seen in horror movies. It had those yellow crime scene tapes that says Do Not Enter.

I took a deep breath before entering the restaurant

I took a deep breath before entering the restaurant. As soon as I entered, I received a call from Noah. 'Crap! What am I going to say to him'.

"Hello". I said after picking up the call. "Hey sweetheart, I hope I didn't disturb you". Noah spoke. "No umm.. actually I was watching a movie". I lied and instantly regretted. I dont want to lie to Noah but I know if I tell him that I'm standing here in an abandoned restaurant at this hour, he's surely going scold me.

"Ohh.. so I disturbed you. Sorry". He uttered and for some reason I felt bad. "No it's not like the movie is more important than you". I said feeling less guilty. "Hahaha you're cute. But anyways enjoy your movie. Call me when you're done. I'm working late tonight". He said and we hung up the phone.

I let out a deep sigh and proceeded to explore the rooms. First there was a room labeled as 'Staff's Info'. I entered the room and switched on the light. I begin searching for the camera. Everything here was so broken and old that I had sneeze out the dust that went up my nose.

I searched in the cabinets, drawers, under the chairs and even behind the paintings on the wall but there was nothing. 'Maybe this room doesn't have the camera'. Next I broke inside the supply room. There was an abundance of furniture along with spider webs in every nook and cranny. One of the webs stuck itself on my face and I hurriedly dusted it out in an attempt to get myself out of the web.

It was so dark here in this room that I couldn't see where I was going and got struck by a shelf. I hissed in pain and caressed my head.

I was looking through the supply area when I noticed a glass case that was locked. I looked for something to shatter the glass because I had a feeling that the camera was inside. I found a piece of wood and struck it hard on the glass and immediately covered my ears as the sound of glass shattering echoed in the restaurant.
