Am I the Prince or the Villain?

The funeral was as everyone expected-in a stuffy church, that Mitchum didn't even attended, filled to the brim with a ton of people, most of whom were still scared of Mitchum and likely came out of the fear of not coming and not actually friendship or feeling of loss. Lorelai and Luke came and gave their condolences. Rory knew that was more for her-and Logan- than any actually caring about Mitchum. Emily came as well, with a new male suitor, which normally would have been quite the topic with Rory and Lorelai but it didn't even hit their radar. Logan, Honor, Rory and Josh sat up front and security had been notified to let Logan know immediately if Shira showed up. She never did. It took Logan and Honor over 3 hours to shake the hands of everyone in attendance and shockingly Logan even kept those on the Huntzberger payroll from "talking shop".

Mitchum had planned to have his body cremated. His exact words in his written will were 'I don't need fake friends crying over me being lowered into the dirt'. Rory had to give it to him, that he actually knew how his funeral would look and didn't want the same for a graveside burial. Logan and Honor were close to finishing up greeting everyone that had attended the funeral. Rory sat with her feet propped up along one of the pews in the back of the church. Rory's head rested on the end cap on the edge of the pew.

"Hey kid," Lorelai said quietly, rubbing her daughter's hair that was dangling over the pew.

Rory's eyes opened. "Oh hey, I was just resting my eyes."

Lorelai chuckled, "You've been using that line since you were five and didn't want me to think you were tired."

"Just a casualty of the coffee deprivation now." Rory smirked and slid her feet off the pew to stand up. She hugged her mom and Luke together. "Thanks for coming. It means a lot."

"Anytime anytime," Luke said embracing the girls back. "We do have to hit the road. Long drive back and need to get back for the order delivery."

They stepped back from each other, but Lorelai still had her arm around Rory's waist.

"You take care of yourself kid. I mean it, its not just you anymore." Rory smiled placing a hand on her stomach.

Logan appeared, finally done greeting the mass of people that had attended. "Luke, Lorelai. Thank you for coming. I mean, I know Mitchum was not your favorite person so I appreciate it even more."

"We had to be here for you...and our girl." Luke shook Logan's hand.

"Now, you take care of her Logan....I mean I have killed for less." Lorelai caught her breath realizing that may have not been the best thing to say at a funeral. Logan and Rory chuckled knowing it was just Lorelai being Lorelai. I mean this was the woman that wore a rhinestone penis shirt to lunch with her mom and her friends from the D.A.R- this was to be expected.

"Only the best care for them." Logan smiled, placing a hand on her belly.

Logan's parents house sold quicker than anyone thought. The new buyers liked Shira's style so most of the contents sold with it. This made Honor and Logan happy since boxing up all contents was not high on their to do lists. Logan did keep some of the paintings and most of the contents of Mitchum's office, which he promptly put into storage. Honor took a few painting and pieces of jewelry that Shira didn't pack up. Last either of them heard, Shira had dumped her suitcases in the Aspen house and promptly checked herself into a spa rehab facility of sorts for 6 months worth of "self discovery" as the website said. They only knew about it because the facility had a credit card on file from one of her previous stays, the credit card company called Logan to approve the charges. He did because in his mind it would have been easier than the never-ending hounding from Shira for help.

Logan decided on renting an apartment close enough to Stars Hollow so he could easily commute to see Rory, but also close enough to the City so he could get to the Huntzberger offices if needed. London was on the back burner for now, and ZOOM conference calls kept him connected as much as needed for his business dealings. Rory had been there most nights since he moved in, which gave Logan a sense of comfort. It was nice to have someone to come home to at the end of a long day. It was even nicer when he was able to work from home to have someone to talk to between calls and meetings.

Logan had to go into to the city and was eagerly returning home. Rory was sitting in bed typing away on her laptop as Logan walked in.

Triumphantly she closed the screen. "Chapter 12 is done. My book is still coming along nicely even with all my energy being sucked away multiple times a day."

Logan sat down next to her on the bed. He kissed her on the cheek and asked, "So have I made my debut by chapter 12?"

"You have." Rory smiled.

"So am I looking like the prince or the villain?" Logan questioned with a smirk.

Rory pursed her lips. "Wouldn't you like to know?" She held her laptop close to her chest jokingly. Logan began tickling her and she lay her laptop down next to her. Her lips met his for a passionate kiss. She sat herself up on her elbows as he pulled back. Logan still looked at her in anticipation of her answer. "That kiss, while amazing, does not have any pull on what I wrote... and at this point in the book I would say....." She paused acting like she was thinking, finger on her cheek, "A little bit of both."

Logan chuckled, "Fair enough, Ace. Fair enough. Maybe I can sway you with some good news?" Rory fully sat up in anticipation of the good news.

"I completely cleared my schedule for tomorrow so I can go with you to the doctor. I mean I am still not thrilled about seeing Paris but...." Logan stopped and Rory's arms were already thrown around him in a huge hug. "Conferencing in on the phone would not have been the same."

Rory kissed him again. "That is the best news!"

Logan ordered in and they spent the rest of the night curled up in bed watching random favorite episodes of their favorite shows on Netflix and eating delicious take out. They were both excited about the appointment tomorrow and more importantly, about the prospects of their future together.
