Surprise Guest (NxJ)

Jihoon sighed in a ballroom that was filled with many people. He never like this kind of event, yet his CEO persist that they need to do this kind of awarding party at least two times a year.

He looked around his surrounding. Just same old faces. Nothing new. 'It'll be boring, as usual.'

He sat in his designated chair silently for a few minutes until someone tap his shoulder. It was his CEO. Jihoon stood up right away and bowed to him. The CEO laughed.

"Woozi! My shining star! Glad to see you here!"

"Kim-sajangnim," he said to address him. "Of course I need to be here to respect all of your hard work."

The CEO laughed again. "Sweet, Woozi!" Mr. Kim gestured him to seat again. Jihoon sat after his boss sat comfortably.

"How are you doing, Woozi? I heard you locked yourself again this past weeks."

"Yes, Sajangnim," he answered. "I have to work on ST's new comeback since they gained a lot of popularity with their latest single. We already scheduled every releases earlier this year, and we think it is best to make an album next."

"Oh, do they only plan on releasing single?"

"Originally, yes. But due to huge growing of fanbase with their two latest releases before, we decided to make an album instead. In my humble opinion, it was long overdue."

Mr. Kim watched Jihoon with unexplainable expression in his eyes. The tall, chubby, 50 years old man then patted the young man on the shoulder.

"You've work hard, Jihoon," said Mr. Kim. Jihoon taken aback. The CEO always calls him by his alias. But if he calls with the real name, it is a real, genuine talk. "You should really enjoy the summer. I guess your girlfriend didn't success on making you out often from the building, huh?"

The younger man just stunned in his seat. Unable to respond. Mr. Kim smile to him.

"Anyway, at least, enjoy the night. I have a surprise guest for you and everyone in this room. Oh, look, there he is my biggest share holder. See you later, Woozi!" Then, he waltzed away.

Jihoon watched where his boss was going and shifted his attention to the front of the ballroom. They always starts the company's award night with two or three performances from their own artists. Usually, the performers were the one who selling more albums or singles in the past six months. But Mr. Kim said that night there will a surprise performer.

'Oh, wait,' he thought, 'the surprise guest could be anyone in the entertainment field. Maybe it's JY's head group or someone like that. Why do I think it's a surprise performer?'

He shrugged and leaned to his back. The young man then noticed a seat beside his has no name tag. Weird. His table usually full of people. It was the producers' table. One of his producer buddy is seated in different place. Meh. Maybe it's something not to worry about.

Seven minutes later, the ballroom became dark and the lamps lighting only to the stage. Two of ST's members were the MCs that night. They made the atmosphere light and fun.

The first performance was from a rookie boy group that doing well in chart. They perform a bright debut song and made the audience nodding their head.

Second performance was a more senior boy group and they successfully made their bosses got up from their seat and dance a little with them. Everyone was hype.

When that fun and full of laughter performance finished, the MCs are back. "Waaahh, that was lit!"

"Yes, of course. We can't expect something less from our senior. That's why they are still the most popular to this day."
